I was looking for a simple, well made desk, which turned out to be a fairly long search. I finally settled on this one due to it's dimensions and styling. It felt a little like a gamble at first due to the lack of reviews, but I'm glad I settled here. I could not be happier with it. The desk looks great in person, and is incredibly well designed and engineered. The desk arrived via freight carrier, who delivered it to my garage (at my request, they asked me what room I wanted it in). While the box was pretty beat up, the desk was well packaged and had no damage. Once out of the box, assembly took me about 20 minutes (I'm mechanically inclined, YMMV) thanks in part to the well thought out construction choices made by NBF. I was impressed by the build quality of each piece, full length clean-looking welds where appropriate, well aligned screw holes, and flawless paint on the metal frame. Everything aligned and threaded perfectly with minimal effort. The only slightly annoying part of assembly was the installation of the plastic spacers between the desk and the frame. For whatever reason, the peel-off adhesive pads required a lot of pressure to stick. I ended up threading the spacers onto a screw driver that I then passed through both holes in the frame. This allowed me to use enough pressure to bond the adhesive pad while keeping everything aligned. All-in-all pretty simple. I had to perform one small modification to get my monitor stand to work. I have a Vivo clamp style dual monitor stand that is loaded to (maybe beyond) capacity. I found that to get enough clamping force to keep the monitors upright, that I was bending the desktop. I was able to find a small scrap of wood that fit snugly between the frame and the desktop under the clamp. This totally fixed my issue. If the stand were clamped near one of the built-in spacers, this would not have been necessary, but my stand is almost exactly in the middle of two. I can't really find any negatives with this desk, as it truly is the first product I've bought in a long time that lives up to my expectations completely. Well done, NBF! ... show more
