  • Best Weeding Rake
Size: 9 Teeth
This is the best weeding rake I have used in my 70 years of gardening.

  • Heavy-Duty Weeding Rake That Saves Your Back and Shreds Tough Weeds Heavy-Duty Weeding Rake That Saves Your Back and Shreds Tough Weeds
Size: 9 Teeth
I’ve been using this long handle weeding rake for regular yard work, and it has become one of my go to tools for dealing with stubborn weeds. It is not a typical leaf rake at all; it is really more like a cross between a hoe and a rake, with iron teeth that dig into the soil and grab roots. The design looks a little intimidating at first, but once you start using it, it pulls up weeds and loosens soil with far less effort than bending over with a hand tool. Assembly was simple and everything fit together securely. The handle comes in sections, but once assembled it feels solid, heavy, and sturdy, not wobbly like some sectional tools. The long handle is a huge plus if your back complains about too much bending; I can stand fully upright and work across beds and patches of lawn without assuming the classic “gardener’s hunch.” The leverage you get from the length makes it feel like a real power tool for your arms and shoulders, and it clears areas quickly. The head itself is what makes this so effective. The iron teeth are thick and almost dagger-like, biting into the ground much better than a standard hoe. In compacted or root-filled areas, it takes a bit of energy to swing and drag, but it pays off because it rips through tough weeds that other tools just skim over. For big, stubborn patches, it is much faster and more thorough than lighter, flimsier weeders, and it has held up well without bending or loosening at the bolts. Despite its heft, I do appreciate that overall it is not so heavy that it becomes unusable. For extended sessions, I notice the weight, but the long reach and upright posture balance that out, and it is still manageable for regular yard maintenance. For light, delicate weeding it is probably overkill, but for real problem spots it is exactly what you want. Pros: Long handle lets you work standing upright and reduces back strain Heavy, sturdy construction with solid, bolted frame and strong iron teeth Teeth dig deep and grip tough weeds better than a standard hoe or rake Excellent for stubborn weeds and compacted soil, clears areas quickly Easy to assemble and the sectional wooden handle stays securely together Cons: Heavier than a typical rake, so it takes some energy to use Overkill for very light, delicate weeding where a small hand tool would do ... show more

  • Alternative rake for weeding.
Size: 9 Teeth
It is very flat to the ground, not like a regular rake, so it will take a bit of getting use to. It does work well with weeds and I would buy it again.

  • Great while it lasted Great while it lasted
Size: 9 Teeth
It broke. Despite the fact that it broke I am giving this product 3 stars because I think the break was more my fault than the product’s. This weeding rake is modular. If you look at the photos, each black band is a metal fixture where the wooden handle sections screw into. As such, it can be pretty short or helpfully long. The rake was easy to screw together. The points on the rake are strong and sharp and they really cut through weed roots easily. Now this rake isn’t going to be great at normal rake things, like raking leaves, but that is not its purpose. It chews through weeds and pulls them right out of the ground. The sharp triangles really help it get into the dirt so it can pull at the base roots of the weeds. Yet, mine broke. While the points are really strong, the metal band connecting to the pole is not quite as durable. That is where it snapped. Now, I wouldn’t attribute the break solely to the product, which is why I am not giving it 1 star. I was pulling weeds from a particularly stubborn part of my property line where there were a lot of larger vines and roots. The rake got caught on a particularly stubborn clump of craggly vine roots and I yanked it several times to break through (instead of smartly pushing it back to free it) and then it snapped the rake connection instead of the root. That’s as much my fault as it is this product’s fault. While I’d hope it were a bit sturdier where it connects to the pole, I think it is sturdy enough for normal application of weed removal, just not what happened with me. Ultimately I got about 20 minutes of really good use out of it before I broke it :D Now, while I was using it, it worked really well. The extra length on the pole really saves your back some trouble not having to bend down, dig your fingers in, and pull at the roots yourself. It is a lot faster and easier with the rake. You will find yourself re-tightening the segments of pole on occasion, but nothing too dramatic or worth complaining about. It is the price you pay to have it modular for varying heights. Overall I think this product is worth the price tag, just dont go swinging it around carelessly in parts of your yard where you may have some sturdier roots it could catch onto. ... show more

  • Versatile Modular Handle
Size: 9 Teeth
The handle is one of the standout features here. It comes in three sections that screw together using fixed screws on the ends. The Joints: They use tightly fitted metal cuffs to ensure the joints stay steady. I was worried about it wobbling under pressure, but once it’s tightened down, it feels like a single solid piece. Adjustable Length: This is a huge plus for accessibility. You can use all three pieces for maximum reach to save your back, or take out a section or two if you’re shorter or prefer working from a kneeling/sitting position for precision. It keeps you from having to "choke up" on a too-long pole. Performance: Grabbing vs. Slicing The 9-tine head is forged iron and built to take a beating. The teeth are deep, and the angle of the head allows for two different styles of weeding: The Slow Pull: If you use slow, steady strokes, the teeth firmly grab onto the roots and pull them out whole. The Fast Slice: If you use firm, fast strokes, the sharp edges act more like a hoe and slice right through the stalks. It also works surprisingly well for light tilling or prepping soil in the spring—just tilt the head slightly and it digs right in. The Wide Head Trade-Off This is one of the widest weeding heads I’ve seen. It’s fantastic for clearing out large, open spaces or prepping an entire bed quickly. However, that width makes it tricky if you’re trying to navigate between established plants or in tight corners with less than a foot of clearance. You really need some "swing room" to make the most of it. Build Quality & Value The construction feels incredibly sturdy—no bending or flexing even in clay-heavy soil. Regarding the price, I’ve noticed it fluctuates a bit, so it's worth keeping an eye on. But even at the higher end of its typical range, the durability of the forged iron makes it a solid long-term investment for a garden kit. Bottom Line: It’s a rugged, posture-friendly tool that’s perfect for the "big jobs." Just make sure you have the open space to let that wide head do its work. ... show more

  • The weeds don't stand a chance with this weeding rake! The weeds don't stand a chance with this weeding rake!
Size: 9 Teeth
This is a seriously solid and well-made weeding rake. I think it is something my children will continue to use when I am no longer here! The tines are sharp, so be careful when handling it. I put it together easily without any help. The metal pipes in between the joins work well to strengthen the handle, and the screws joining the sections seem to be really good quality and sturdy too. And it was nice to have the little tool provided that was just the right size for attaching the head of the rake to the handle. I didn't have to go searching for something. We had just come back from vacation, so my garden was in need of some tender care, especially in the weeding area. Our soil is dry, as we get mostly winter rains. As soon as it was put together, I went out to see how well it works. It is phenomenal! I took two to three minutes to weed the little patch you see in the picture, and it only took that long because there was a strong root from our papaya tree near the top of the soil. And admittedly there was one weed of the kind that I know has tough roots that didn’t come up quite as easily as the rest. I recommend this weeding rake to anyone who has weeds and doesn’t want to get down to pull each weed up individually. ... show more

  • ...
Size: 9 Teeth
I’ll start with full disclosure: I previously received a similar rake that broke very quickly, so my expectations were pretty low going into this. That said, this one far exceeded those expectations. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, and assembly was quick and straightforward. One detail I really appreciated was the brace where the wood pieces are screwed together—it helps prevent the rake from pulling itself apart over time. From experience, that kind of reinforcement is incredibly important, so make sure you install it properly. The design is well thought out and easy to use. It does a great job of pulling up weeds, dead leaves, and loose debris. However, the spikes are quite sharp, so you’ll want to be careful—especially if you’re using it on grass, as it can cause some tearing. It also has a bit of weight to it. Not overly heavy, but enough to actually make it easier to use and more effective when raking. Overall, this rake is well designed and performs exactly as intended. ... show more

  • Heavy But Otherwise Good
Size: 9 Teeth
Not a rake I would buy again, but it's serviceable if you need something delivered instead of going to a hardware store. The multi-sectional shaft that makes this thing shippable without a huge charge seems sturdy with the long metal collars reinforcing each joint, but it makes the rake very heavy compared to a traditional solid shaft. It does work well for turning over a garden bed to remove any weeds or stray grass from the previous season. It was easy to assemble, and it works just as well as any rake. ... show more
