We've enjoyed using Garden of Life products for other supplements. The ingredients always seem to be good, and they appear to be a good company. Their packaging looks nice at least. :) Anyway, this supplement features Lutein, Zeaxanthin, Black Currant. Lots of eye health supplements have Lutein and Zeaxanthin, but it's nice to see black currant in the mix. The full ingredint list is: Sunflower & Safflower (seed) Lipid Blend: Phosphatidylserine, Phosphatidylcholine, Sphingomyelin; Sea Buckthorn (fruit): Oil Omega-7 (Palmitoleic Acid); Calendula (marigold flower) Extract: Lutein (as Free Lutein), Zeaxanthin; Black Currant & Bilberry Extracts, Bacillus subtilis DE111 (250 million CFU). Other Ingredients: PlantGel vegan softgel, short- and medium-chain fatty acids, candelilla wax, fruit & vegetable concentrates (for flavor and color). I see what people mean by the chocolate. It wasn't the smell that jumped to my mind, but now that it has been pointed out I do agree. They are sweetly fragrant pills and quite easy to swallow. And they are laden with many different supplements from a very trustable brand. But I may not be the best person to review these, because my eyes are truly a mess. I have been taking them for three weeks now; do I notice any difference? Regrettably, no, at least not for my set of issues, most of which are retinal. There's no decrease in floaters or increase in color sensitivity or night vision for me. I can't be corrected beyond 20/40, so clarity I can't speak to. However, I certainly don't notice anything getting worse. My eyes aren't dry naturally, but they do itch sometimes and haven't for a bit. That's something! I do think this is a good blend. It's just important to note that it isn't a miracle worker, but more of a preventative. And taking care of your eyes is a very good idea. Trust me on this. ... show more

Ever since experiencing a recent problem with my eyes, I’ve been diligent about taking vitamins designed to keep them healthy and strong. I really like that Garden of Life Eye Health soft gels not only contain lutein and zeaxanthin like most other eye supplements, but that they’re delivered in a base of sea buckthorn, sunflower and safflower oil - and that all their ingredients are natural, organic and traceable to seed. Everything you need for eye health! This product goes above and beyond the normal Lutein ingredient and it has a slight berry flavor. The quality it is good and the lipid (fat) added improves absorption. Love that is it third party certified for purity and dose - that's really important to me as FDA doesn't regulate these supplements. Overall a good quality product and hoping it results in increased vision support as I am not getting any younger and my eyes seem to be aging much faster.     • Easy to swallow and seems to be working!
I know I haven’t taken these for very long, but it does seem that I am able to read smaller print more easily without having to use my glasses! My eyes also don’t seem to be as dry. I have used other brands before, but they all had a horrible smell. This one has a nice scent - maybe it’s the black currant? Definitely worth trying! ... show more

We have macular degeneration in my family and I started wearing glasses two years ago so I thought I'd give these a try. While I like the color, shape, and delicious smell of these supplements, and I've always loved the Garden of Life brand of supplements, after taking these for two weeks and not noticing any difference in my eyesight at all, I'm not sure I want to continue. My vision still gets just as bad the more tired I am. Maybe if I get a pay raise, I might add these to my supplement regime so I don't go blind, like my uncle did. ... show more

As with any preventative, it will always take a while to see any long-term effects that a supplement will have on a person. I chose this supplement as a preventative, since I’m an online instructor and on screens nearly all day. I wear blue-blocker glasses, but I’m always looking out for my eye health because I’m in a world of hurt if I lose any of my eyesight. Initial impressions—this is a thoughtfully formulated product, and they even thought to provide flavoring for the capsules, even though they’re meant to be swallowed and not chewed like a tablet. It even includes some probiotics, which I never thought would be useful in a supplement for eye health. I was using a different brand and formula to support my eye health. I saw that Garden of Life had an eye health supplement and wanted to compare. I'm so glad I did. Garden of Life's formula is better than the one I have been using, because it has a blend of the best herbs that have been proven to enhance and improve eye health, including Lutein, Bilberry and a synergetic blend of other supporting herbs. The herbs seem fresh and potent. All the ingredients are Vegan and Gluten Free. In using it for a week, I've noticed subtle and enhanced changes in my eye health.
