This rake is cleverly designed so that both components, rake and handle, can ship in a solid cardboard box that’s about 33”x33”x4” deep. (No worries about the handle breaking off in transit.) Assembly is a breeze. The handle has a pivot in the middle that can be secured into place with a sliding collar which is located on the top end of the handle. The head snaps on the same way…slide and snap.(no screws) This rake is well made and solid. The components are made of solid tubular aluminum and thick gauge plastic. The worry is always with how long the plastic on the rake head will last but it it seems to be thick enough to last for more than a few years. The rake also has a loop on the top so that you can hang it from a nail.

I will try to be as honest as possible because I depend on other people's reviews and feel I want to help the best I can: I am thrilled with this purchase. Finding a garden tool nowadays that doesn't have a cheap handle that is in short pieces that needs to be put together creating weak spots is hard. BUT this item is awesome. Because the handle folds up, they can still ship in in smaller / less tall box, but the design does not destroy the strength or integrity of the handle. Metal handle with a strong smooth action folding bracket. The folding bracket snaps tightly into place and then a secure sleeve slips over it to prevent you form accidentally touching the release button while also covering and protecting the folding bracket. As if that wasn't good enough, the Rake head itself slips ono the metal handle and Snaps into place with a spring loaded metal pop-up button. Once put together this rake appears to be as strong and well made and the rakes of many years ago with bolted on Rake heads and single pole handles. I highly recommend. Good luck.
