I have several styles of these garden protectors. I don't really think any of them will keep my dog from raiding my plantings, - a little hop is all it would take to get in for the theft. However these serve as a deterrent. She's a puppy so she needs some help setting boundaries and that's what these do. However, this style isn't made to go fully into the ground. The bottom of the arch rests on the ground while the small poles that come in the kit simply slip into small brackets on both sides of each piece. Line up the rings on one piece with those on another, run one of the connecting rods through both pieces and they pieces stay together (a drawing would be helpful here!) The problem is, there is very little of the arched pieces to keep the pieces in the ground. Some that I've purchased have long rods that sink a foot down into the soil to keep a whole row of the fence stable. However, this style allows the fences to be used in very hard or rocky ground. Just consider each style before make your purchase.

This worked so well around my roses that I purchased another set. The pieces are sturdy and the included steaks go deep into the ground keeping it secure.

These metal garden fence panels by PETFORT are great and were exactly what I needed. I work in the yard a lot, and my Maltese, Sophie (2 years old), loves to be outside with me. I'm always finding ways for her to join me without getting in my way and to keep her safe. These are for my front porch as a barrier to keep Sophie on the porch, and they work just as I envisioned. Made of rust-proof steel and with precision welding, they are smooth to the touch; no pokey metal sticks out, which is important since I'm using them to enclose my fur baby. They are a bit wobbly on the porch but if placing in the ground they maybe stable. The height is perfect, since im not staking them in the ground they are taller for my Sophie. The rods that connect the panels are easy to use and also smooth, with no metal points sticking out. I love that I can use only what I need. On the porch, I believe I hooked five together—just enough for the barrier. The panels are easy to disassemble and relocate, are portable, and take up minimal space when storing. I highly recommend these panels. They are versatile, easy to use, and easy to store. They also are pleasant to look and affordable.

This is a cute fence. The design is different from any of the small fences I’ve seen. The sections sit on the ground and are held in place with the rods that attach to the loops between sections. I was a little concerned because the area I wanted to put the fence in has a small slope, but it actually worked really well to attach each section in this way. The sections really look nice because this method of attaching them to each other lines them up really well even on the small slope. I’m impressed with the design. I put my fence under the edge of my small deck to keep the dogs from digging under there. The sections have the nice arch that makes the height very good for keeping my small dogs out of the space. The fence sort of blends in due to the black color, and it looks very neat and tidy. I’m a little confused by the package of hooks that come with the fence. The pictures show the hooks hanging decorations from the top of the arches, but I think they would slide down from the top if something hit them. I don’t plan to hang things on the fence due to where I am using it, but I’m not unhappy to have a nice package of hooks. Hooks definitely come in handy around the yard, so thank you for those! The quality of the fence and the careful way it was packaged is excellent.

These are well made, sturdy and the dimensions are correct - above the ground at the highest point is 17", with 7" of the stake that goes into the ground. That adds up to 24". I've had pets all my life and knew this would not contain them in any way, unless they were small puppies, too young to try to escape. A cat would just jump over, as would most dogs, except little ones. However, I did think the fence sections would be useful for propping up unruly flowers or plants. My flower beds have a 4x4 border which held up the fence section without using the stakes as shown in the pics with the leaning Lily's and the peonies. The fence wasn't tall enough to totally contain the Lily's because of their height, but it helped. I used them in another bed to contain the peonies with great results. I tried putting sections in on the gravel path lined with professional landscape barrier but decided I didn't want to put holes into the the fabric to allow the stakes to be inserted into the ground. In loose soil the stakes are easy to insert, but not if the ground is hard, etc. If the stake narrowed some toward the end they would be easier to insert. I gave this 3 stars because it's advertised as a pet fence. As a plant containment fence I'd give it 4.5 stars. .5 taken off for the stake ends.

it was difficult to remove each piece from the next, but when it finally happened, it was plenty easy to install. using this for extra protection in the garden around the cucumbers as something has been slipping in and taking them out. so far the new ones i've planted are doing great. if i need to weed around the fence line, these are pretty easy to get in and out of the ground, so i'm pleased to have them. there's a good amount of distance covered too, but would certainly order more to do the entire inside of that one wall of fence.
