I am a car enthusiast who does a lot of my own work. I have a 4 car garage with 1 bay for tools and work area. With 4 kids the bikes easily take up the full bay, having to move bikes in and out every time i need to get to the tool box. I was able to install this using the video from their website in about 2 hours and it works great, kids can use it with ease and the bikes are out of the way. The lift works great, it’s fast to rise and handles the 160lbs well. I mounted 2 e-bikes parallel to the bar instead of perpendicular like it is designed. The lift sits above and between my 2 garage doors and uses that space well when the bikes are positioned this way. Two watch outs. One, the instruction pictures are such that you are facing the unit installed on the ceiling. This will be a mirrored view when you have it lined up on the floor. Watch for this as I had some rework to do to mount it correctly. Two, in order to support 220 rated pounds I reinforced the ceiling joists above the garage (I have an attic) with wood. I’m not sure I would trust the install if all the weight is on one joist like mine would have been. If you span multiple joists you are probably just fine as the weight is distributed. However, the instruction for installation is messy and the installation of the two middle pieces of the track isn’t necessary for holding up weight but merely for the sake of making sure the distance from the motor to the end is even for the straps ... show more

I received and installed this on the same day by myself without any issues. If you are reasonably handy it is no problem. There are some heavy parts so it is best with two people. The unit is built well and has good function. It is very wide so plan ahead with a lot of space. I replaced the provided bolts with heavier lag bolts as I did not trust what was provided but they are probably fine, I just over engineer everything. The only thing I could say negative is I wish the power cord was longer, but that is just where I placed it in relationship to my power. ... show more

Missing a part on my new garage gator and there's no way to get a response from them now over a month of trying everything. I tried emailing them through their website, I called every number they have in every department and every one has a voice mail box and they do not return any calls. Also the input from many people of how difficult installation is and the lag bolts breaking off is correct. For anyone who may be installing one in the future can prevent broken bolts by drilling a larger pilot hole. Old truss studs harden over the years and hitting a knot can add to your frustration also. There's a lot of broken hearts out there from these problems and ending up unable to use the lift they spent good money on from lack of getting help from the manufacturer. ... show more

Product arrived really damaged box was old looking and could have been a return from someone who realized how hard it is to install if you don’t have proper tools like ladders and drills impact etc Well it was a long process to lay out and get the mounting plate correct After one wrong mount I got it straight and did a PARALLEL joist install it was the simplest 4 hours later and a new leader I have 12foot garage ceilings Put all 4 bikes and golf bag for now ... show more
