I needed to replace my garage door bottom rubber seal as it was cracked and broken. This new one feels and looks like much better quality than the original. It does take a little bit of work to get the seal to get into the metal grooves which I had pre-lubed with some WD40. Once you get it started it helps having someone help gently pull as you guide and push the rubber seal. It's a bit stiff and it takes a little 'kneading' hence the 4 stars. I finally replaced my garage door seal and you can imagine my surprise when the big orange box store’s version didn’t seal the gap all the way! This led me online to purchase this door seal instead. The quality difference was night and day. This seal is thicker, wider, and has the inner ridge/cushion connecting the pieces to seal. Since this seal is physically larger, it was able to better seal the door to prevent sunlight from coming through. Have three tips for easier installation. Clean out the track with an old paint brush roller or brush. Spray white lithium lubricant in the track to make the seal easy to slide (and spray your garage door hinges). Find a friend or partner to help feed the seal from one end while the other pulls for double bay 16ft garage doors otherwise it’s a struggle. ... show more

Way easy to install. Took 30 minutes to run across my 16 ft garage door. Hold its shape and keeps water out. Quality is better than my previous gasket I paid 3 times more for at lowes. My garage doors had a gap at the bottom when closed and I could see light seep in. Installed these and now it is pitch dark. Installation was really tedious. I don't know if there is a better method, but it took a lot of effort to slide on through one side till the other end.

If the 5/16" T grooves on your garage door are clean and you lube them and the rubber weatherstrip with Windex as it feeds in, then this is not all that hard to install with 2 people: one to gently pull and the other to help "shape" the item as it enters the T grooves and to help push. We slid it in about 4 to 8 inches at a time. No need to rush it. INSTALLATION TIP: Unpack and unroll and lay out the weatherstrip overnight before you install it. Why? The end is rolled very tightly and will be slightly our of shape until it can "relax". The "tube" down the center is really a smart feature: it keeps pressure even all along the contact surface (garage floor) and the seal itself when the door is closed. Durability is yet to be determined, but the material is tough and thick. We'll see how it holds up to a Colorado Rocky Mountain high winter! This weather strip is nearly twice as thick as the stuff you can buy at the big box places. Hint, if your bottom plate is old just go buy another. Chances are since the plates are aluminum the channels that the strip slides into are bent or deformed, you will be there forever trying to put in a new strip. Even if you have a new strip take a paint brush an some liquid soap and grease up the channels and the strip. Took less than 2 minutes to do a 8ft door. ... show more
