I love these shorts! They fit right (exact on the waist, loose on the hips, hides and doesn't accentuate my postpartum belly), are comfy, and doesn't ride up my inner legs when I walk. I haven't bought clothes online because after giving birth, my size has become so wonky that I buy clothes from size 10-18 (M to XL) depending on style. Because of the range, I prefer to try them on first in physical stores to avoid the hassle of returning items if the fit isn't flattering. There is no size chart on this posting so I looked online for GAP measurements and, as expected, my waist says get size 16 and my hips says get 12. Ugh! So, I got size 14 and crossed my fingers. I got a winner this time (not always the case)! I paired the shorts with random maternity shirts and all looked fine, tucked in or out. Happy with the purchase and thinking of getting the other color!

I love these shorts. The linen blend is incredibly lightweight and comfortable, plus it's constructed so you can throw it in the washing machine (I'll likely do so on a delicate cycle in a delicates bag). The fit is absolutely perfect. I have thick thighs and was a little worried about the legs being too tight, but they're wide enough to not be constricting and still look a little loose. I was also worried that they would be too long since I'm on the shorter side (5'4") but they hit me in the exact spot they do on the model. They're going to be perfect for those dressier casual occasions. Right now these are 50% off so I'm going to order in black as well, and I totally recommend scooping these up while they're on sale! I totally recommend them!!

I ordered the GAP Women's Pleated Linen Shorts for myself in the size Amazon said would work based on other things I've ordered and happily, size 10 was the right size suggestion. The good: These shorts fit well. I have a pear shaped figure and wear an 8-10 on the bottom; often when something fits my hips it swims on my waist. These shorts have elastic at the rear of the waist and I'm happy to say that they fit me. The quality of fabric and construction is also nice. They're stylish shorts and well constructed. Nicely, their pleats are minimal: no large bubbles of fabric popping out the front of your shorts. These pleats are the sleekest I've seen. The bad: So, I wear an 8-10 bottom and ordered a size 10 in these and they fit nicely at the waist (there is a little extra room but not enough to bother me too much) and just fit at my hips. According to the size chart the waist was right around my measurement and the hip was slightly small for me (but a size 12 would have been way too big at my waist), leaving me with size 10 as my compromise. And they fit. BUT... The ugly: These are not flattering whatsoever. I think this style of short is simply not flattering for my pear shape. The shorts fit exactly like an A-line skirt, and they do not show my curves in a flattering light. Thus I am left to decide, even given the fabulous minimal pleating, that pleated shorts/pants are probably still not for me. If you have a true pear size body and also deal with problematic size differences between your waist and hips, these shorts may not be for you. If however you looooove showing your beautiful large hips, these shorts will do so in an otherwise quite stylish way.

These are super cute shorts that have a more modest inseam, which I prefer. The also have elastic at the back which is great for those of us with a large hip/small waist ratio or who just need some extra leeway after big meals. The fabric is lighter than other shorts i've bought at the actual Gap store; these seem to be a linen mix as opposed to 100% linen like my other Gap originals. Maybe that's why they wrinkle so incredibly easy. The leg openings are quite large, which my thick thighs very much appreciate, however they also tend to ride up in the middle a lot more than my other shorts. Overall, these are great looking for events where i'm standing a lot (prevents wrinkles), but not doing a lot of walking (cuz they ride up the crotch).

Overall I like these shorts. They are made of a light weight linnen material that is not see through. Perfect for a summer day on a boat or the beach. It has a zipper and a button fly but elastic through the back for comfort. There are gathers at the waist for a relaxed or "paper bag" look. I usually wear a size 14-16 but sized up to 18 in these because I have a big rump and wanted them to look relaxed like on the model. I think that worked well the fit is pretty good. It's got a nice length, but my tight tend to gobble shorts right up into my crotch and the light weight material made of these made them very prone to this. So I feel like I was picking these shorts out of my thighs every few steps which isn't the best... They are also very wrinkle prone so can get to looking pretty sloppy after wearing for a few hours.

These linen shorts are lightweight great for wearing on a hot day. They are cut wide around the legs and are tailored around the high waist. The shorts have two deep pockets that come in handy. The pleats give it a relaxed fit. They seem to wrinkle easily which is typical and expected for linen fabrics. Overall a nice pair of dress shorts.

The fabric of these shorts is nice soft linen blend. The construction quality is what you would expect from the GAP. I knew when ordering that these were pleated shorts and I have not worn pleats in decades but thought I'd give it another go. Well, the pleats are just not for me. I feel like it made the shorts really puffy in the front, like there was a lot of extra unnecessary fabric. Maybe being high waisted plays into that too? I will probably still wear these when it's hot because the fabric seems great for the heat, but I will stick with buying flat front short.
