I’d give this a 4.5 if I could. Since I can’t, I’m rounding up to a 5 because it’s easily better than a 4-star product. At $45, this is the most comfortable way to play the Switch 2 in handheld mode. It actually stopped me from spending way more on a Hyperion. The Pros • It stands up by itself • You can wake up the Switch 2. It works. It took me forever to figure out but once I figured it out, I was able to make a different Bluetooth controller wake up the Switch 2 also. It’s awesome. • This is the best-feeling controller for the Switch 2 outside of a Pro remote. It beats any of the joycon grips you see here on Amazon, including the dbrand ones as far as comfortably. • When you slide the console in, there are two locks on the back that keep everything in place. There is zero wiggle room, and it feels completely safe. • I’m very picky about responsiveness, and both the sticks and buttons are accurate. The back paddles are also easy to map and have a great feel to them. • You can change or turn off the RGB lights on the sticks. It’s a minor thing for me since I don’t care much about lighting, but it’s a nice touch. The Cons • Noise: The button presses are a bit loud. I play while my wife is sleeping nearby. It hasn’t woken her up, but they are definitely louder than a Pro controller. • Thumbstick Friction: When you move the left stick to the outer edge and rotate it, you can feel a bit of a "scrape." You don't hit that angle constantly, but it is slightly annoying when you do. The shortcomings are super minor. If you want a comfortable, high-quality handheld experience without paying a premium price, this is the one to get.

This control is really good. The pairing with the Switch 2 was easy. I had some issues setting it to wake the console but after that initial issue everything is great. The battery is in the 3 bar after 1 week of use of 2 hours each day so the life is great. The RGB lights give a nice touch but they aren't distracting. And it has a soft cover in the part that supports the console to avoid scrachts, good thinking. Also since it's a Bluetooth controller you can use it in Tv and table mode, so you have an extra controller for group games I recommend this to all Switch 2 owners. It beats to play in handheld mode with the joycons, is comfortable and the buttons are big, the directional cross is great for retro games and the joysticks are Hall effect ones, no complains across the board

I like it. Feels more like a regular controller. Obviously it isn't compatible with the dock. But its great for handheld mode if you prefer more of an xbox feel. It doesn't let you charge the switch while using it. So I just drilled through the bottom lip to be able to connect the charger directly. Worked like a charm.

The controller is pretty good, the sticks and triggers feel good, the back buttons are too clacky and the vibration is not 3 dimensional at all, it’s either on or it’s off, no in between, sure you can choose the intensity but it lacks any subtlety. For an example, playing Skyrim, when you pick a lock, if the controller was 3 dimensional, it would vibrate very slowly and weak until the pick is in the right place, then you should be able to feel the vibration speed up and intensify ever so slightly, this controller doesn’t do that at all, it just vibrates super hard the whole time. I’ve ended up turning the vibrations off, it’s definitely the biggest issue I have. Removing it from the controller dock to dock the switch to a tv is a little annoying, but not the end of the world. The home button turns the switch on which is nice, and it’s more ergonomic for my wrists than the pro controllers are. I would say all in all its a solid purchase, if you don’t feel like waiting for better controllers that actually use the built in switch magnets, which are definitely coming soon enough.

I got this for my Switch 1 and was waiting patiently for a Switch 2 version. Suffice to say, it's a great device and the pros outweigh the minor cons. It connects well, can customize the lights behind the joysticks, comfortable and ergonomic, good battery, sturdy, has 4 pockets on the back for physical games and holds them firmly, etc. Cons are extremely minor - the connect light only turns off when disconnected, can be slightly distracting - Switch 2 version is only available in the base gray/black color - expected, but can't slide into the port with the Switch 1 or 2 This is the best handheld controller I've found for the Switch 1 & 2. It's sturdy and comfortable, not much else to say.

This is perfect for what I’m looking for until CRKD or Mobapad release their new one. Waking the Switch 2 is an easy setup, and worked for me the first time I tried it. Setting up the MR/ML buttons were effortless to setup. Also, downloading the app KeyLinker instantly connects your system, and allows you to change the RGB colors around the sticks. I am very impressed with this for 50 dollars!! The sticks are great. The buttons/triggers are not top tier, but that isn’t to be expected at this price point- they still work very well. Honestly, I’ve been capping and crowning on Fortnite with no problem. Also, battery is great. It’s super easy to charge at the bottom, and when your Switch 2 needs charging, you just plug in the top. Zero issue. Very impressed! Great option if you’re looking for an escape from using the OG joycons!

Overall, this is a functional, budget option in a time of extremely limited availability of these types of grips for the Switch 2. Here is a bullet point breakdown of why I gave it a 4: Pros: 1. Lights are pretty! 2. Joysticks and buttons are responsive, ive had no lag 3. The 'lock' mechanism on the back keeps your Switch in place securely. 4. I had no compatibility issues and continue not to. 5. As an early, 3rd party option in the Switch 2's lifespan, this is a solid option buuuuut: Cons: 1. Biggest one: WHY do you have to charge this separately from the switch 2 itself? I had grips like this for my first switch console and ALL of them were hybrid charged with the Switch; none of them required separate charge. Expect your 'plug in' time to be doubled, if not tripled, when this grip charges OR expect that you need to have 2 charge cables because this grip sadly has its own charge port and draws no power from the switch itself. The other day, I forgot to charge this and my Switch was low so I literally had to play with two charge cables attached. I know this might seem nitpicky but it is, in my eyes, an inherent flaw that needs to remedied in future iterations, as it is incredibly frustrating to have to independently monitor the power on this grip. 2. The back buttons, while Im sure great for some, are annoying in their placement for me. Just while holding this grip, I indirectly push them without meaning to. I dont use them, so it doesnt do anything, but it does cause friction in my ands when Im gripping. 3. The grip itself, while ergonomic, has that grommeted, diamond pattern on it that I despise because it causes calluses. It would be better if the grip on this was smooth. I game for hours at a time and the patterned grip does massive discomfort to your hands. All in all, since there arent many options, this is a great start. But, you can count on it, as soon as there are other models that don't require independent charging and have a smoother grip, this one is going buhbye.
