Description

Introducing the Game Boy Advance SP, packed with enhancements over its predecessor. Its standout feature is the front-lit screen, later models featuring backlighting, addressing a previous criticism. This is the first handheld with a clamshell design and a built-in, rechargeable battery. Like its predecessor, it supports Game Boy and Game Boy Color games, making it the last Game Boy to do so. The console's left side houses a volume slider, while the right features a power switch and indicator lights. Top ports accommodate charging and accessories, with the back protecting the battery and displaying the serial number. Inside, you'll find a floating D-pad, face buttons (A and B), Start and Select, a brightness button, speaker, lights, and shoulder buttons (L and R).

  • Sent me to tears.
Color: Cobalt
In perfect working condition, I don’t even care about the superficial scratches. Authentic console and charger works perfectly. I had this same game boy with just a different shell when I was about 7 years old but it broke some years later. This brings back feelings of peace I had in childhood, and I cried hard when I booted up the first game, which also runs amazingly. If I could give more stars I would, this more than met my expectations. ... show more

  • Works as intended.
Color: Cobalt
I got this thinking it was a replacement for the one I got for christmas. Turns out, what I got from my cousin this past christmas, was a GameBox. Read the details, and look for sites that sell that sort of stuff online. There are places that sell that kind of stuff as legitimately as possible online, so don't lose home. As for this specific product, its gold, simply gold. I love it. I have a few Game Boy Advance, and other old school games, that I play on this thing. The Game Box is great, but having the legitimate version is good too. If anything else, for reliability and durability of legitimate products that other questionable stuff just may not have. I am gonna get the Pokemon: Red rescue team game just to use on here, since the GambeBox, well, it plays that game, but can't save on it. Granted, I'm old enough to be from the gamer generations that played games like that, and left them idling/afk while we had other real life responsibilities to do, then come back and continue to play the game we were doing before responsibilies called. With that said, this, the legitimate version, works well. I just hope after hard grinding on some games, that it doesn't break down on me. I tend to be the kind of guy that works a system to its limit, just through legitimate/standard means. Like for the GameBox, on the Pokemon red version, after my Golbat evolved from a Zubat, one or two levels later, that I leveled up in the same area, during the same game play time frame of 6 hours, Golbat went into evolution stage again, and I got the "Ash:??" response when nothing happened after the initial light show before the Pokemon goes white while evolving. So, yeah, with that said, I always look for a stable, reliable, long lasting, products. I look for things that can last a long, long time, cause I intend to have things, for a long, long time. To conclude this review, I will say that the legitimate Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP, works as intended. I look forward to buying legitimate versions of games to play on it for years to come. Now to find a good price and seller on a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team. P.S.: This is besides the point, but I thought I should include it here. The review box, it doesn't allow the upper arrow key to be reconized. I tried on other sites and it works there, so it isn't my system or keyboard. If anyone else see's this issue, about the up arrow key, not working on the review details box, please inform Amazon about this. Might be a bug they care to fix. Its a weird bug. It sometimes works, and other times, it doesn't. Please, someone look into this. ... show more

  • Exceeded expectations!
Color: Pearl Blue
I was beyond happy with the console I received. I expected typical scratching and battery problems for a 20-year old gameboy. It is almost in perfect condition (one tiny area where the paint is starting to wear out below the A button), and the battery lasts 6+ hours nonstop playtime with the extra screen light on from a fresh charge. I specifically ordered the AGS-101 and this is what I received. Plugged in my pokemon sapphire game from when I was a child, and it was like 20 years never went by. It came with a wall charger as well. Very happy with this purchase! ... show more

  • Great quality!
Color: Black
Out of the box, the SP arrived without the packagaing seen here, but it did arrive with the handheld and the charger. The Game Boy itself was the 001 model of the SP, which was in very good condition! A couple scratches on the shell but no dead pixels or anything that would hinder gameplay. The battery life is great so far. Having played it for about an hour each day for the past three days after having charged it fully once. Light illuminates the screen just fine. It plays GBA and GB Color games with no problems. Thanks a bunch! ... show more

  • Amazing little console, decent price
Color: Cobalt
The console came in such amazing condition, tbh I thought it was an actual new and untouched console. It did have a few scratches but they were barely visible. I bought this console for reason, and that’s to mod it and customize it. First image has the original version, other images are of the console after I swapped the shell. Amazing console, worth the price (sorta). Yeah you can find cheaper on eBay and offer up or any other second hand market, but for 110$ it was a decent price for it. Sadly for the 110$ price tag you would expect the AGS model 101 instead of the 001 version, which is the only downside. Besides that, genuinely worth the price!
