I set this up in an outdoor space where I already had a stand, and overall the installation itself was straightforward once I adjusted the height correctly. One thing that immediately stood out is that it behaves differently than flatter fabric-style hammocks — it stretches more than expected once weight is applied, so the initial placement needs to be higher than you think. It took a little trial and error to get the positioning right so it sat comfortably without dipping too low. Once properly set up, it is very comfortable to use. The rope construction naturally conforms to the body and creates a supportive lounging position that feels more “cradling” than rigid. It works well for extended sitting or lying down, and the open weave also keeps it breathable in warmer weather, which makes it practical for outdoor use in hotter climates. The spreader bars help keep the shape open, which makes getting in and out easier compared to non-spreader rope hammocks I’ve used in the past. That said, the flexibility of the rope means movement can shift your balance a bit when entering, so it does take a second to settle into a stable position. In terms of build, everything feels solid once installed. The rope itself has a substantial weight to it and does not feel flimsy, and the hardware included was sufficient for mounting without needing additional parts. It gives a stable feel once tension is properly adjusted, even with more than one person using it. Comfort-wise, it performs well for relaxed use like reading, lounging, or just spending time outside. It is not the type of hammock you “plop into” quickly without thinking — it rewards a more careful setup and intentional positioning. Once that’s done, it becomes very easy to relax in for long stretches. The main downside is really just the setup learning curve with height and tension, since it stretches more than expected and can sit lower than intended if not adjusted properly. Once you account for that, it becomes much easier to enjoy consistently. Overall, it delivers a very comfortable, traditional-style hammock experience with good durability and strong relaxation value, especially for outdoor lounging once properly installed. ... show more

This is a really great 12 ft. double hammock! We had a similar hammock in our yard at a previous home 30 years ago and my husband really missed that hammock, so he is really happy with this new hammock. When camping he loves his camping hammock, but for the backyard, he really wanted a rope hammock like this. One thing to remember is how low these hammocks go when you get on them. We had to raise the hammock to make it almost flat, which seemed super high until he got in the hammock. Once in, you sink down a lot lower than you would expect because of the handwoven cotton rope. That is just something to be aware of before using. The hammock is sturdy and will definitely hold up to 450 pounds as marketed. The metal attachments at the end are very sturdy and they even include hardware to put into a wooden frame or trees if that is how you are going to use this hammock. The wooden frame keeps the hammock in shape and I really like the design of these traditional cotton rope hammocks with the wooden spreader bars. We just put our new hammock up an hour ago and my husband will probably stay all afternoon. Haha. He is really happy with this hammock, so I highly recommend it. He is the hammock lover of our family and if he is happy, then you will be also. :) ... show more

Super comfortable and beautiful hammock. I had to put it on the higher part of my hammock rack because it was a little bit looser on the bottom, but we tried it with two people (total ~300lbs) and it held up really well. Super easy assembly - just use the larger grommet, not the chains. Good value for money. ... show more
