Got this as a Mother's Day present for myself, and I'm very happy with it! First off, I'd like to emphasize this is a chair made for gentle "rocking" -- not vigourous swinging! If you or your children want to use it for swinging, I'd firmly suggest anchoring the frame with something like "U" shaped trampoline anchors or such. As an experiment, I did try a couple actual swings with just the frame set on grass -- and it did, indeed, almost tip over. Anchor it, people, if you want to use it for this purpose... or maybe even just for general purposes. And remember that the rope hangers will not get the milage that the chain of a "standard" swing will, so inspect it periodically. Beyond that caution... this was incredibly quick & easy to set up. I did it alone (69 yr. old woman, here) and it took me about 15 minutes. I would recommend watching the video on the Amazon listing, or the website, to see exactly how to attach the hooks to the frame ( one bolt below & one bolt + wing nut on top). The fabric of the seat is sturdy and brightly colored, and I appreciate the little cushion at the back. It takes a bit of practice to angle your tushy into it comfortably -- but once you find your "groove" this is a very relaxing place to sit, rock a bit, and read or watch the world go by!

The swing part will work for a small child and not cause pain to the back of your legs, no matter how you sit this thing is uncomfortable. It’s basically porch decor at this point because returning it would be a pain ( but not worse than the pain being inflicted to my legs…)

This hammock seems safe enough and works great for my small porch area. Assembly was easy, until the instructions near the last step with the screws literally didnt include a very important part, and thats a safety issue if you dont end up doing it right. I luckily figured it out, but they really need to fix that. Also, it slowly unscrews itself while im swinging, but very very slowly so its not a huge issue and for me it was worth the cheap amount i paid for it compared to others, and the size is great.
