  • Choice RGB Memory for Both Intel & AMD. Don't beleive the bad Reviews!
First of all I wanted to say this is a great kit. To be at 18CL and 4000MHz is fantastic! Some motherboards won't like this kit because running at 1.4v with its XMP profile may not be supported. The fault on intek seems to be 2666mhz. This is normal for DDR4 or any double data rate memory. You need to enable XMP to get 4000mhz. If this memory is not on your QVL it may not run. I happened to get a DOA stick, but I'm not taking away a star from the product for this. It can happy with even top of the line memory. I want to address some common issues for those who are concerned about other reviews. Will this RAM run at 4000mhz? Only in XMP. That's normal for all DRR4 though. Some motherboards have XMP I and XMP II. This set ran fine on both for me and this kit is actually not on my QVL. However memory or the same speed and capacity by GSkill and memory up to 4400mhz works at 1.45v. Sometimes you need to take an educated guess if it will work in XMP If the kits not on your QVL. Say all kits of that size, speed, CL, and voltage are only supported in 2 dimms not 4 it may be safe to avoid that kit. However with mine that wasn't the case. Will this cause my system to crash? It could! I generally suggest running memtest86 without XMP first. If it passes run it with XMP on. If it passes, try getting into windows. From there you can increase your CPU power phase to 4 or more and sync all your cores. XMP used to do this automatically in the DDR3 days anyhow. Since it's no longer automatically in the profile, memory has a broader support. This memory says it's for AMD. Ryzen systems arenvery particular about memory configurations and being the current platform of choice over intel G Skill markets this as "Ryzen Ready". A few generations they would do the same, but for Intel. "Core i7 Exteme ready". I have a 10850k on Z590-A and XMP worked just fine. I did run a hammer test which lower quality memory will fail. It's worth noting this passed with flying colors! Great ram with insane performance. Works with AMD and Intel. Works great with motherboards RGB configurations. Easy to configure. Stable XMP profiles. What else can you ask for!? Update: I am not removing a star for this but I do want to point out that I did have to swap to 3600mhz CL16 1.35V rather than 4000mhz 1.4v CL18. To be supported at XMP 2.0 and 64GB Asus Z590-A does better with XMP profiles at 1.35v. ... show more

  • Great
Good ram speed and capacity. Check your motherboard memory compatibility list if you want to use xmp. Mine supported it but had to do a bios update to use xmp. Its stable and works great.

  • I Easily got the Advertised 4000mhz and I'm a first time builder
This is my first build, so I'm as unexperienced as they get. I was planning on buying the 3600mhz version, but it was unavailable when the time came to buy, so naturally I stepped up. I read a lot of people saying the aren't getting the Advertised speeds on these even after enabling XMP. When I first turned my PC on, I was getting 2600mhz, I enabled XMP and immediately saw the 4000 I paid for. But, more importantly than anything else, they look good! I'm actually about to buy 2 more sticks and go to 64gb. Not because it's at all necessary, but rather because this is America and 4 sticks looks sicker than 2. My Rig: MSI B550 tomahawk AMD 5800x3d 3080 10gb 980 pro m.2 32gb ram **UPDATE** I noticed the price on these already cut significantly in the year since I built my PC so I grabbed 2 more sticks. Because I need it? Or because it's at all necessary? Nope, because 4 sticks look way sicker than 2. That's it. I turned pc off, plugged them in, and that was it. When I turned back on everything worked fine, got the 4000mhz and it recognized the extra sticks. Easy. 64gb of ram for COD multi-player...lol. ... show more

  • Great value
I already had a pair of these from almost 2 years ago, and I bought these ones again to make it 64 GB at 4000mhz, but I wasn't able to make them work at that speed. With only 32GB they work properly at 4000mhz, but not with 64GB. I tried many configurations in the BIOS and no luck :( the max speed I managed to run was 3200mhz Board: Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) ... show more

  • Working great with default XMP (5950x, B550 AORUS Master)
EDIT: Currently running at 3800/16-16-20-22-38 (since trdcwr and trcdrd I had to set differently), vs the stock 4000/18-22-22-42, and both my Cinebench R20 score and MEMbench score improved. Shaved 50 seconds off the MEMbench test (in DRAM Calc, default settings for the bench) and boosted my Cinebench score another 700 points. Just bought this for my new system, and its working great at the default XMP profile. Tomorrow I will see if I can get it running at 3866 CL16-16-16-32 (FCLK at 1933), but, if not thats fine, Im ok with it at the XMP defaults. So far not a single problem. The LEDs arent super bright or annoying like other people have said, and they are EASILY turned off assuming you aren't completely ignorant about your own system's capabilities (in most nice motherboard BIOS menus, for instance, you can control the RGB system-wide and turn it ALL off, even). The people mentioning system instabilities may have gotten fakes, or duds, or their system may not be properly compatible. 4000mhz ram is quite fast, many systems literally cant run them that high. Two builds ago I had 4133mhz ram, and I had to clock it down quite a bit to get the system running at all. PC building is for everyone, but playing with the fancy parts can require extra care and knowledge. ... show more

  • Does its job.
Sticks came in very good condition and protected. As usual G.skill preforms very well. A good buy overall.

  • Save your money
I have had this RAM for almost a year, never ran at the speeds advertised and over the past month has been causing my PC to blue-screen and crash regularly. Took me along time to trouble shoot the issue but now that I have new RAM I haven't had a single issue.

  • Not really 4000mhz
Disappointed because they won't run at 4000mhz. I had to run them at 3800mhz @ 1.40V. Otherwise the ram is very good and stable. Works well with Amp overclocking AMD motherboard bios software. Overall happy with the ram because GSKILL is some of the best ram out there, but doesn't run at advertised specifications. ... show more
