I'm back with my second purchase since I misplaced the one I bought in August; naturally the price I paid had doubled since then. (I suspect my cat; she loves to sleep on it for some obscure reason.) While I still find it very comfortable with just the right amount of light support for my arthritic, old lady back, the back pad and bands seem a bit narrower than the one I bought last summer. Is it my memory or are they cutting corners? Ironically, the heavy duty back brace with a pelvic plate and pulley strings that a medical device company foisted on me at the doctor's made my pain a lot worse. I have chronic lower back and hip pain due to a shorter right leg, and this support belt has really helped me. The stabilizing bars on either side of the spine give great support. I use it mostly when I have to do yard work and twist and turn the lawn mower. The support helps to keep me from throwing my back and hips out, necessitating a visit to the chiropractor. I actually had an old Futuro back support brace exactly like this one that I absolutely loved that I use whatever I’m outside in the yard working or needing to pick up anything heavy and carry the same. These braces help protect your back during lifting, etc. I purchased this new one for my wife to use so she would not hurt her back and lifting, etc. I have purchased other brands of back support braces but this one is definitely the one I like the best. I had lumbar back surgery in 2021 and I want to make certain that I don’t re-injure my lower back so I use a back brace whenever I’m doing any type of work around the house. I returned it for two reasons. It was more restrictive than I thought it would be, couldn't bring my legs up high/ride a bike without it hitting the brace which was not very flexible. More importantly, the bottom of the brace does not lay flat against your lower back like the picture shows - it sticks out and is stiff which was really annoying and not comfortable for me. If one is not active/minimally active, this is a really good brace. If you are active, I would recommend you find one that is supportive but more flexible and conforming. ... show more

NEW REVIEW I bought this FUTURO back brace around 4-7 times, and I regret ever buying them. I only bought them because they had a white version as black is my least favorite color. the problem with this FUTURE back brace is that the material on the front and sides is so flimsy that when I am sitting in the chair, it bunches up and folds over. Not only that, but the velcro always scratched my left arm. My arm looked like it had been raked around two dozen times by sharp cat claws. I have since switched to the FEATOL Back Brace that has much better support on the front and sides. Sure, having support in the back is very important, but having support on the front and sides is also important. OLD REVIEW Size matters. I learned that S/M works better for me than the other sizes. I am a male and I wear size 31 jeans. Anyway, I am currently on my third S/M Back Support brace. I was in a roofing accident many decades ago, and I have six bolts in my spine. I have bad back posture and my back goes out of alignment after sitting in a chair for only 10-20 minutes. This back support brace is the only thing that saves me. I wear it all day and only take it off when I shower or go to sleep. I even use it when I bench press because it is hard to sit up with my weak back. If I had one complaint it is that the sides can fold in on themselves. When that happens, it doesn't offer nearly as much back support. I wish that the material on the sides was as firm as the material in the back or front. I will deduct one star for that. ... show more
