Furinno (99557LC/BK) Turn-N-Tube 4-Tier Multipurpose Shelf Display Rack - Light Cherry/Black and my thoughts! "Engineered Wood" is about as nifty as the term "reclaimed wood". Neither is correct, really, and the composite wood in these shelves falls under the category of "reclaimed wood". Oh, repurposed wood, also. I think engineered sounds abusive and reclaimed always makes me wonder what court battle it was in that the original owner lost the wood and then had to get it back in such a serious fashion. It's particle board or composite. And it is good! It is a really sturdy shelf and actually much easier to assemble than the typical havy=duty resin or plastic shelves which can crack when you mallet them or hurt your hands popping the poles in. This is so ridiculously easy it is amazing! And it says it takes 3 minutes to assemble (I think) and it took me less! That is with hands that have polyneuropathy and carpal tunnel in both. I got this for my senior cousin as a birthday present -- no, not cheap, cash-deprived (see what I did there?) -- for her carved ironwood pieces that she had all lumped together so close it looked like a hairless, shiny baby buffalo on a board in the dining room, which is also a thrift store with a little antique corner. Well, she is a collector. I assembled this for her and she played shifty-shifty, the game where you move everything around to make room for more, and I helped her get things in place all together and easy to see! She really did all the work, I just moved a few things and checked to see if it was following the 15-pound limit for each shelf, and it was fine! I told her to place the heavier pieces at the ends of the shelves so they wouldn't have a chance to buckle! Always do that with court-appointed, magical, umami wood shelving and flatworks that have space below them. Like...shelves... This shelving unit is sturdy, rocks not a bit, the black poles do not look plastic when put together... they almost look like matte metal, and this would just look great almost anywhere, even in a finer area of the home with how you use it! It is well made but I don't recommend it in kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, porches, or anywhere there is moister in the air. No matter how well the material for such shelves is, it doesn't hold up in moist environments. And if you live on a houseboat, well, just pass on this. Otherwise, grab one. Or two! Or three and send the last one to me! I totally recommend this shelving unit! I will be back for another soon, and more from this brand! Fantastic! ... show more

This is the second Furinno item I bought. Due to me loving their first item I bought this as I needed to replace my plastic drawer in my closet. Definitely VERY easy to assemble and took less than 5 minutes; the wood was almost perfect - didn't really see any visible deformities; and so far it accepted the heavy weight of my plastic drawers with stuff on it. (I decided to use the plastic drawers and put it on the shelf until I get a better sized bin) This is actually on a carpeted closet so yes it VERY tiny wobbly but NOT that it would fall. It is still secure so that's good enough for me. What's even better is the price - at $20 I say it is a bargain! Totally recommended! ... show more

The round tube products are the best method of construction they have come up with. The plastic tubes take the weight; the boards are less likely to break; and putting the pieces together takes just a few easy minutes. No fuss, no muss. I moved into a modern manufactured home where my bedroom is only 8.5 ft wide. The width of the bed was going to be on the short wall. I wanted a nightstand on either side and I still needed bookshelves on the long walls for my daily stuff. I decided to go with this “barely there” furniture. I chose the light color to keep this micro room from getting too dark, and looking even smaller. I needed shallow shelves because I live by the square inch and did not want to lose leg room right next to the bed. This furniture really delivered. It went up fast. It is light to move. For light furniture it can handle up to about 10 lbs per shelf. It is in a high moisture area and has not warped after a month of use, so good there. It smells okay, I am very sensitive to off-gassing and I have been fine with this product so far. The only drawback is you can’t pull on the furniture when getting out of bed. You’re gonna want to, but don’t do it. If you’re that weak, get a cane next to your bed to avoid doing damage to this ultra lightweight little gem. ... show more

This did its job for the most part. The shelves are easy to assemble but you really have to be careful when putting it together. Of course do it stack too much on the shelves because it’s can become unbalanced and topple over. It worked well for me for just all of the things I had laying around, I was able to store them in boxes and stack the neatly on the shelves so they’re out of the way. Overall, it’s a great shelf but I don’t know if maybe I underestimated the sturdiness of it or it wasn’t as sturdy as it seems because it started to constantly topple over until one of them “legs” broke. I think maybe it would be better for storing minimal items ... show more

I bought this for a closet. It was super easy to put together, it accomplished what I needed it to. The sturdiness is questionable. It comes with a wall anchor, which I don’t use (because I have it in a closet). If you have pets, I don’t recommend this for you because if they get crazy on it, it may turn into the leaning tower of Pisa. Anyway, I saw some weight restrictions on it. I generally use it for light to moderate weight kitchen items from Costco and as previously said, it does what I need it to, it holds my stuff. I didn’t find any damage on the wood when it arrived and if I needed to, I’d buy it again ... show more

I got this because I wanted to use my linen closet as a linen closet after using it as a pantry for a while in my small apartment. Since I don’t get too much dry products I also made it a coffee bar at the top. Reading the reviews, I was kind of scared of making my purchase. If you’re debating it GET IT!! the supports are plastic but very sturdy. I’m not sure what the other people were putting on their shelf but none of the shelves are curving in the middle from weight. I have my Keurig on there and like 20 things of canned food at the bottom with no issues. It still wiggles when you try to wiggle it, but for this use I won’t be wiggling it on purpose at all. It could also be super cute for decor & other uses as well! Super easy to put together and lightweight if you’re debating on where to put it I put it together and moved it around a bit before I found it’s home. ... show more
