I figured I could use some extra storage in my room, so I picked out this shelf to fulfill my needs. When it arrived, I was incredibly excited to construct it. However, after a long day I was exhausted and got slightly confused by the instructions, and had a mental breakdown while building this. Although that was a minor setback, I finally built it and it's amazing! It does the job that you expect from a shelf and for the price it's amazing quality. One thing I will note is that you have to use your own tools as the parts don't come with any, although this wasn't a problem. This was easy to assemble. I only needed a #2 Phillips head screwdriver and a hammer. It came with instructions, however I have assembled similar products in the past, so I had previous experience with how to put the shelves together. The nice thing about this shelf is that it doesn't have the cam locks. It came with 16 screws and probably 20 brads, which I didn't use all of, since the backing wasn't really necessary. Sorry for the dark images. The shelf is the smaller one sitting on the cabinet. I do not have many built-in cabinets in the house I'm renting, so we have had to purchase free-standing units. To maximize the space above the cabinets, I bought the shelves. This is allowing me to store my smaller appliance. I have room in front of the shelf for storing larger appliances or even a plant or two. ... show more

I needed a very particular size to fit my space and this shelf worked very well. I stacked it on it's side with a 3 cube shelf. The white and blue is fun. It is cheap particle board with a paper-like finish. I inspected each piece and put the less than perfect ones on the bottom. The screws were easy with a screwdriver and all the holes lined up well. My only complaint is the stickers to cover the screws. Instead of 1 set of white and 1 blue, the box had 2 sheets of blue 🔵. (The other shelf I ordered had one of each.) I wasn't going to put blue dots on the white sides, or disassemble everything to return it. A quick trip to Walmart for white garage sale stickers solved the problem for $1.47. It currently holds 55 books, but I can still squeeze in a lot more (especially on the bottom right). The quality of it isn’t the best, which is expected from a $20 shelf, that’s why you can’t put more weight on the shelves on top. So if you want to maximize the space, do it on the bottom shelves. At the same time, you can still put things on top of it (as long as it’s 10 lbs and below!) I plan to put 8 paperback books on top soon once my books get delivered. But overall, it’s worth the money! And easy to assemble and has no missing parts. However, just know that they didn’t provide a screwdriver, so make sure you have one at home when you order this. ... show more

The bookshelf was pretty easy to put together - as just a single girl it took me about an hour. You need a hammer and screwdriver for it, which aren't included. It includes sticker to cover up the screws, but as you can see in the 3rd picture, they don't perfectly match the color so it looks kind of bad up close or if you have direct light on it. My shipment didn't include the 2nd back piece for the other half of the shelf. I don't know if it was supposed to be one solid piece of wood stretch between both halves, or if I was just missing one, but it was definitely intended to have both. It even included enough nails for both halves. I tried to go to the company support website, but they're down. So I doubt I'll be able to put in a ticket to get the remaining piece I need. I guess it works without it, but it's a lot worse looking. I guess that's what you get for $34. UPDATE: I was finally able to get support on the company's website and they sent me the replacement part to fill in the remaining back piece. It didn't come with the nails for it, which is a little inconvenient, but it looks like you can just use the standard tiny nails you can get cheap at a hardware store. ... show more

I bought one of these awhile back to put on top of my horizontal Ikea malm dresser and store books. It was a really cute set up! I've since rehomed the dresser and ended up with a second of these shelves and decided to stack them, using some brackets to hold them together. It worked really well, all things considered. Both individual units have held up to moving, hold a decent amount of weight, and have held up to regular wear and tear (as in, there really isn't any). First read the dimensions. I was seduced by the price and that it had five shelves. Having said that I really liked the engineering of this item The backs are not flimsy cardboard. They are hard pressed board and slotted into all sides of the shelf structure. Read the directions carefully first. If you don't you might not have an easy time putting it together. It didn't take long to build. What I don't like is the shelves are not tall enough for my large books. Art books, school manuals will have to fit sideways. So, If you want a smaller shelf this will work. You will NEED TO ANCHOR it to the wall!! You have to purchase that from your hardware store. The last thing I don't like is the shelves are not painted on both sides except for the top, bottom and middle shelf. All around a well built sturdy shelf for its size. ... show more
