Good product to use UNDERNEATH the top cover of your dog bed. Makes it so much easier to remove the outer cover to wash. This used by itself would not be durable as it would tear easily if the pup started chewing on it. Besides that, dogs don't like sleeping on plastic alone. That's not what this cover was designed to do. If your pup pees on his bed, though, it will protect the mattress underneath by keeping it from soaking through. I had another Furhaven cover for this bed (also by Furhaven), a brown microfiber material, that lasted ok but was difficult to get fully clean and also definitely got damaged in the wash 😅 I loved finding that Furhaven sold separate (in my case replacement) covers in the exact (jumbo) size I needed, definitely relieved to know I didn’t have to get rid of the whole bed because my dog loves it. This new cover is a nice fluffy material that so far has been keeping clean- a few vacuum’s, no washes, and smells better. It is a nice cold toned gray color.
