Purchased exactly one year ago and still holding up incredibly well. The cats love it, it's lightweight but sturdy, and it looks good. Easy but a little time-consuming to assemble and I assume it will be even easier to disassemble down the road.

The CUTEST cat house I have ever seen!!! Despite being made of cardboard, it holds its own weight well. As someone who's a bit on the weaker side, having a cat tower that doesn't weight a million pounds is definitely a plus. Set up took a while, but that's to be expected with something as tall as this. Not all of the pieces were numbered, and the ones that WERE numbered didn't really match the instructions, so assembly was a bit difficult. We had to take it apart to swap pieces out 3 times because of this. The edges of the pieces also came bent, which made the assembly extra difficult - however that doesn't seem to affect the sturdiness once it was all put together.     • Disappointed ended up being waste of money
I thought this looked so cool for my little guy. But it is not sturdy at all. My cat is pretty skinny to medium in weight, he was scared to climb up in it at all. The scratch boards do not fit inside perfectly, they're half size so it was just awkward to have them inside it as he couldn't lay down. I ended up cutting this whole thing in half keeping the top two tier part since he wouldn't climb up in it and put it next to the bed to try and climb on but he refused. He would rarely finally go into the bottom floor and lay down but now he just avoids the whole thing and is uninterested. So today I am throwing it away. Completely sad and upset it was a complete waste of money. For a flimsy, thin, put together, few pieces of cardboard this should not cost so much!! 😞 ... show more

Pros and cons. I'll start with the cons first: 1. Expensive. It's pretty pricy. 2. The pieces are labeled wrong and don't match the instructions. Fortunately, the graphics in the instructions can help you through. For the price, I'd like it to be easier to assemble. Pros: 1. The cats love this thing. Seriously, it gets more use than their other cat stuff. One of my girls pretty much lives in this thing. 2. Once you get it assembled. It's pretty sturdy and the first one I had lasted 3 months before I decided to toss it. I wasn't going to spend the money on another one but the cat's missed it. 3. Comes with a lot of extra scratch pads which I've been able to put into smaller boxes for them to enjoy. It's a good product but it is pretty large so if you live in a small apartment like I do, it takes up some real estate and it's not the prettiest thing to look at. I do recommend not putting the very top piece on if you don't need it. I have mine set up next to one of their tall cat trees and they jump between the two and caved in the the "roof" on the first day. LOL This is one of those "gotcha" products that are marketed to pet owners. You don't want it but then you see how much they love it and....Gotcha! I recommend this product for sure. ... show more

    • You must love your cats to buy them this
Paying almost $100 for cardboard is already beyond insane, but for those of us who really love our cats and are too lazy to poke holes in some moving boxes, this seems like a fun idea. However, nothing is as it seems, particularly internet purchases. The first and biggest mistake I made was immediately I forgot about a little baggie containing the cat toys. The baggie has the instructions, only I didn't realize that and I spent some time cursing and cutting my hand (once was from the box castle and twice from my cat, who was more excited about me trying to put this together than he was about it after the fact but I digress). I put it almost all the way together, complete with a hundred pieces of tiny cardboard flying around the room like wood chips, only to realize the pieces need to go in a particular order. I did not see any numbers or labels on the pieces. I then gave up in frustration and returned later for Round 2. Apparently Round 1's failures taught me something, because then I quickly took most of it apart, flipped around the stupid middle pieces that require to be inserted in a way relative to the ones that will go above them, shoved the last piece on and then remembered the toys. It was then that I found the instructions. Gazing at them, they don't seem very user-friendly. It would be far simpler to use say "Bottom" and "divider for bottom " for example, right on the pieces. I was pleased to see mine looks the same as the pictures here, especially because im not taking it apart again. But I disagree about it being sturdy. I have yet to see my cats go above the bottom nook. Imo this product should be priced at about $25. $30 with good directions. ... show more

The castle itself is cute, large, and lightweight enough to (carefully!) move to different areas to keep cats’ interest. It is sturdy but after several months will likely show wear from active jumpers of heavier cats. However this review is to praise excellent customer service. I sent pictures of how the package had been damaged in transit, resulting in some folds and creases and the tearing of a couple of the scratch mats. I stressed that it still all fit together and held up fine, it just was not “perfect.” Almost didn’t mention at all because I was not going to return it, returns of large items being such a pain. To my surprise an entire replacement castle kit arrived shortly after, no questions asked. I just have to compare this to other companies that make you jump through hoops to refund or replace. ... show more

It has one job. Be loved by our cats. Mission accomplished. Well worth the money. Be warned however. While the assembly video is clear and easy to follow, there is no way one person can easily assemble it by themselves (as shown in the video). It takes two.
