  • Works as advertised
I use this for casting bismuth alloys in silicone molds. It's not perfect but considering the price and that I only use it occasionally, I am very happy with the purchase. The only issues I have are: it is slow to heat up, there is a bolt obscuring the place that I would really like to pour from, and I would like it to have a pour spout formed into it. I'm fairly certain that those changes would bump the product into a higher price category though so I am happy ... show more

  • Works as advertised.
Great for small tasks. I use it for molding lead round ball and buckshot for reloads. Heats up pretty fast.

  • Be patient. It takes a while to get lead to melt, but when it does, it is easy.
I used this to melt lead for my daughter's bb gun to add allowable weights for competition. It took a few minutes, to heat up. Start off with just enough to melt into the cup and cover the bottom. It'll take 10 minutes or so, but when it does, when you add more lead, it "sucks" it in quickly. Be sure to figure out someway to keep the cup from resting on a table. It would be nice if they had a stand so the cup wouldn't have to sit on the table while it is hot and heating. I devised a way to keep it suspended in air. But it worked well. If you guys are listening, put a pour lip on the cup that is sufficient to direct the pouring. Not a big deal but that would make it work better. ... show more

  • Used
This one came used, this is what it looked like when it came out of the bag , I plan to use it for lead myself but if I was planning on melting something else I would’ve been upset. It takes a while to melt but it works.
