Life safety is so important on the water. It’s difficult but necessary for little ones. I needed a life jacket for a 6 week old, 11 pound baby. Most lifejackets that are listed 0 to 20 or 0 to 30 pounds are way too big for an infant. While this looks huge on him, it actually fits, and you can tell by the picture of the back of my grandson that it is secure on him even though from the front it looks gigantic. The pictures are slightly deceiving, it didn’t look quite as big as the photos make it look. The support on the back of the head keeps the baby’s head afloat. This sweet baby boy did not fuss in this life vest, we were lucky. I think this vest will fit him for close to a year before we switch to a small vest style. Highly recommend for small babies. This is a true infant life jacket approved by the USCG. UPDATE: I definitely recommend this "style" for infants. I will keep updating on how long this style fits a baby. We live in Florida and use our boat year round. I am posting this late September 2025 and the baby is 6 weeks old. There are a few styles available which are similar to this one, but this one was the most affordable (gender neutral) and looked very similar to the $60 vests.
