Installed, today, on my 1970 C-10 that had a leaking over sized radiator on it. I never could find the leak and that kept me limited to 100 miles round trip from home. It got fairly frustrating, motor got hot, started vapor locking and I'm stuck in heavy traffic with an engine needing cooled down (both of us). This was fairly close to a bolt in ready radiator. The lower hose spigot is about 1/4 inch smaller than the stock radiator and the plastic drain plug leaked immediately. Since I was swapping out the hoses and the radiator at the same time, it was a simple swap to the brass drain valve from my old one. My electric fan fit on perfectly and works with out a hitch. This unit cools so efficiently that even with the motor at full operating temp (180 degrees), I can barely feel heat on the left side after the coolant has passed my fan.     • Works in my 86 chev caprice classic
Installed on a 1986 chev caprice. This is a beautifully made radiator, aluminum, very good welds. No plastic seams to come undone. It is wider than my old rad so I had to custom the fan cowling. I use the same old mech fan. I put on a new fan clutch; had to modify the cowling slightly. Height is good, rad sticks out beyond the sides of the cowling, but the chev has plenty of room. No problem. I was also doing the power steering pump and the water pump. I mention that because I had spare rubber grommets from the pressure hose for the p/s. Carefully observe the grommets that come with this rad. I had three that were cracked; they are very small, but must be correct. Grommets are easy to get and if you are doing an install you probably have some around anyway. I replaced them with spare p/s grommets and they work fine. The trans cooler hook up was excellent. Yes, it holds more fluid than the older smaller rad. I have driven it around to reduce the potential air bubble that always develops in the chev small block. Rad is sealed tight, working fine. I expect to get 10 years city driving out of this rad. I may report back if I have any problem in summer heat, but I am confident. The shipping was quick. The box/packing was very professional - not a single dent or scratch on the rad. I had it sitting in the living room for a few weeks because of a blizzard. Looks like mechanical art. Beautiful work.     • Proper installation
This radiator was supposed to fit a 1972 Cadillac Coupe DeVille, the radiator barely fit the mounting area of the car and barely fit the opening even after the modification. The radiator is operating ok after a lot of work getting it to fit.

    • Looks good but isn't worth the money.
Looks awesome! But the radiator fins are very very very soft! And also on the right side lowest aluminum fitting with the rubber gasket leaks like crazy no matter how tight you put it. Just a very pour seal if you ask me. You would be better off getting a replacement of your old radiator.
