As always Adorama is a great seller through Amazon and through their private channels. I received the camera in 2 business days (Non-Prime shipping). Coming from the full frame Canon ecosystem, the Fuji XE-3 is a welcome breath of fresh air. It’s light, intuitive, very fun to use casually. Some reviewers have said that this can replace a dSLR. I wouldn’t agree with that statement. It is slightly slower to focus and not as robust or confidence inspiring in its operation. It’s a difference you have to use to camera to realize. Can it be used professionally? Sure. It produces great image quality and the Fuji JPEG colors are GREAT. The 23mm f/2 on the other hand is not my favorite. If you are new to the Fuji system, go with the kit zoom lens. It is more versatile and is also constructed with high quality materials and produces good images. Time will tell if I replace my dSLR with this mirror less system, but for now..I am having a blast using it. ... show more

This is Fujifilm's most technologically advanced APS-C camera at the time of this review. Sure, the X-T2 and X-Pro2 have some pro features that this is missing (weather sealing, dual card slots, etc). I also own the X-T2 and X100F. I wish I'd gotten this before the X100F. This is actually a somewhat more compact body than the X100F. Add an XF27mm lens and you've got a great street machine with the same coat pocket friendliness. But you're not bound to just one lens. The Fujifilm app for iOS is terrible. Seriously, google reviews of how long it takes to transfer images over WiFi on Fuji's other modern bodies. And yet the X-E3 somehow works relatively quickly in the same operations. I'm not sure, but maybe Bluetooth has something to do with the improvement. At this time, the X-E3 is the only Fuji X series camera with Bluetooth. This is convenient in other ways, too, like getting the date & time set correctly and geotagging your photos as you take them. I also have the old X-E1. Similar size, totally different camera. I won't insult the X-E3 with a comparison. It's worlds better than its grandparent. Fuji has learned so much about making the best cameras over the last few years. The joystick might be my favorite feature on this generation. I use it to pick the focus point and, if I want, the spot meter point. I'm less enthusiastic about the touch screen. I understand the experiment here. I kind of hope Fuji doesn't go this way for other cameras in the future. I do vastly prefer tactile controls. If you're even considering this camera, just get it. It's amazing. I bought this camera after doing some research on cameras that were more compact than my Nikon DSLR - I wanted to be able to take this camera with me everywhere so I can shoot more. This camera is so perfect, the quality is beautiful and it’s pretty straightforward to use once you get used to the controls. The film simulation modes are a great addition and get plenty of use when I shoot. I found that I liked the way this camera functions and the quality so much that I used it to shoot part of a wedding this weekend and the pictures turned out so lovely. This would be a likely 5 star purchase except it has way more than I need and the learning curve seems difficult. My favorite camera all time was a Leica M2 with a 28mm f:2.8 Elmarit lens. That was film, This is digital. The fuji matches the specs of the Leica and is more modern and easier to use. So far I have turned off blue tooth and wireless stuff. Don't need it, but it's there. Photos are crisp and camera is responsive. BUT, every time I move my fingers near the LCD screen, the automatic feature takes a picture. Have to figure out how to kill that -or- get used to it. I am not a touch screen guy. The included manual is comprehensive and about the size of a really thick sticky note pad. I found the manual online and downloaded in PDF format and printed a book sized book. Now am studying Fuji Digital 101 the old fashioned way. Think an included CD would have helped. There is room for one, but not a full sized manual, in the box. Auto focus is crisp, quick, and reliable. Have to be careful getting the shutter button half way down to focus. This will take practice but should not be a real issue. Great camera. Just more bells and whistles than I expected or plan to use. It is a keeper; Purchased mine with the 23mm f:2 lens and plan on adding the 50mm f:2 to complete the set. Do not plan to add a zoom as that would defeat my intent for use as a street camera. The Q menu thing on the LCD may make this learning thing a whole lot easier. Time will tell. Oh, product registration on the Fuji web site was a snap. Think I am going to be a happy Fuji user for a long time. Addendum; Love the Q menu. Most important settings are a touch away without scrolling through the traditional digital camera menu. Particularly like the ability to select any of 9 film simulations including Acros B&W film. Color film simulations are also there; but I don't see a whole lot of difference between them (never did when is was real film either) ... It is a little touchy for sure, but that is the user - not the camera. This is my carry around street camera for sure. ... show more

I'm a Leica M 35mm shooter for documentary photo and street work. For quick turn digital I've been shooting an XE1 for years. My wife shoots the XT1 and XT2 professionally for product and stills in studio. We were both Canon shooters prior to switching to Fuji (at her suggestion). This camera is a huge step up from the XE1 it's like having the XT2 in a rangefinder form factor. The IQ is what you would expect from Fuji, high-quality and stunning color even with the JPG engine. I can publish the JPGs straight off the card with little post-processing. I stick primarily with primes, using either a Summicron 35 or Zeiss Sonnar 50mm. But I picked up the Fuji 23mm WR with the XE3 kit and I love it. Not as beautiful with skin as the Cron, but for $250 in the kit it's not even a fair comparison. The AF is fast, it's really nice for fast shooting work. All the Fuji primes are excellent. Not as hyped as the Zeiss, but a lot less money. I am shooting some 4K this week for a gig, my test-shots this morning looked pretty good even with the H264 encode. Which I hate. I will eventually pair this with a Atomos HDMI recorder and should be good. Per the manual, it has clean HDMI out. All in all, this is my favorite digital camera on the market. I prefer the color to Canon. The XF lenses paint beautifully with this body. At this price you can't miss. ... show more

Initial impressions are so far this is a fantastic camera and the 23mm F2 is a gem of a lens. I’m slowly switching from a Nikon DSLR to the Fuji system. I recommend getting a soft shutter release, a grip a tempered glass screen protector and of course at least one extra battery, mirroless cameras are not known for their battery life but I expected that. The images out of this kit are amazing, I shoow RAW+JPEG and the film simulation profiles are incredible. Build quality is great and everything feels solid. First Fuji I've had any usability issues with. Wound up selling and going back to the X-T20, which despite the differential names are essentially the same camera. The X-E3 uses an off-set viewfinder, like a baby X-Pro and the X-T20 is essentially a baby X-T2. The harsh truth is, if you have even slightly larger than normal hands you WILL inadvertently push the Q button at precisely the wrong time at some point. Fuji moved it to the edge of the thumb rest on this body, for what seemed like a more useful position, I suppose, but not so much in practice. At first I just thought I wasn't paying enough attention, but then I realized the ergonomics of the X-E3 are simply NOT as good as the same-sensored X-T20. I switched back, and the problem no longer existed. And by the way, I've since read reviews of the same button placement frustration from other larger-handed photogs. ... show more

I love my little X-E3. The compact size is just right for me to bring it along on my daily walks, family gatherings, and short hikes. I do own a full size DSLR but the X-E3 is lighter and a bit more inconspicuous (good for street photography). It also has a ton of features and the Fuji lenses you can pair it with help in creating some pretty awesome pictures. Great camera for the price. ... show more
