Prior to purchasing the Fugi Sprayer Semi-Pro, I read every review and watch a lot of YouTube presentations on it. For the money, I felt this would be the best choice. I've used this sprayer on a couple of projects now and have come to appretiate some things about it and question a few things. Pros: 1. Surprisingly quiet considering it's a small turbine. 2. The hose is very manageable without having to buy the small pigtail that some have. 3. Its fairly simple to clean, though I use water based prodocts 4. The instruction manual is good and to the point. 5. Fairly light weight compared to the old sprayer I had. 6. The quality is unmistakably great. Everything about it is top notch. 7. It performed flawlessly and both my customer and I loved the finish it gave. Cons: (These go to marketing not the ability of the machine) 1. Parts are not available near me, order on line is about the only option. 2. A 1.3 mm spray tip came with the gun. That's great for spraying thin material but normal stuff like polyurathane, lacquer and such you need at least a 1.5 mm tip. They should include this. At about $45 dollars a pop that would have been nice. If I ever wanna spray water though I have the tip for it. 3. The filter at the bottom of the pickup tube broke after 2 uses. I order a new one (5 in a package $10) but had to wait to finish a project due to it. They include a package of "wearable parts" why the don't include the filter beats me. Overall I'd buy it again just because of the quality. Quality in the way it's built, quality in the parts ( when I bought the new tip the parts came with not only the tip but all new nozzle, needle, air caps and collar) and Quality in the end result, an absolutely stunning finish. I'll be spraying some paint soon and when I do I'll update the review on that. Mike Update 6/4/2020 Well I promised an update on paint spraying and I have done a few pieces now and I can say I'm very pleased with the results. Getting the paint to a point where you don't have the "Orange Peel" effect takes some trial and error but once you understand it your going to get better at it. My recommendation is to read Arni's review. He is spot on and much more articulate with what he says about this sprayer.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Spray System! I’ve owned and used several spray systems over the years, including Titan, Graco Pro, and multiple gravity-fed HVLP guns. Without question, the Fuji Spray 2202 is in a class of its own. The precision, consistency, and finish quality are exceptional. Whether I’m spraying primers, paints, or fine cabinet finishes, the results are outstanding. Switching between different products is quick, easy, and virtually hassle-free, which saves valuable time on every project. If you’re looking for a professional-quality spray system that delivers flawless results and is a pleasure to use, I can’t recommend the Fuji Spray 2202 highly enough. It’s one of the best investments I’ve made for my business.

Upon opening the box, I was impressed with the Semi-Pro 2. Everything was very high quality, all metal turbine housing and spray gun and quality hose with brass fittings. Instructions were very clear and readable, plus I watched several of the comprehensive videos from Fuji Spray. I used the system to spray two Adirondack chairs using Sherwin Williams Emerald and the quality of the final finish is excellent. I thinned the paint about 10% and had no problems. Cleanup is easy and I’m confident I’ll get great results for a long time. I’m very satisfied with the purchase.

Impressive and robustly built machine! Ive never sprayed before. After some research, I ended up choosing this semi pro 2 bottom feed HVLP. Then, did more research on needle tips, paints, primers, videos, etc. My first spray project EVER, complete noob! Using a 2mm tip, I painted a big sliding closet door (7 ft height x 4 ft width) To get a feel for the system I used Kilz 2 primer (thinned to 70 sec on Ford cup) and Behr latex paint (also 2mm tip thinend to 70 sec) (Research beforehand states that Behr paint is the absolute worst for spraying and Kilz 2 is like molasses, but did it anyway). I removed the air control valve for max air pressure, also removed the filter from the intake tube and it coated primer and paint nicely! 1 coat of primer and 2 coats of latex. Apart from a bit of mist, Very little overspray! Armi's review helped A LOT with narrowing down the setting and saving time with trial/error. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PROS: *User-friendly and VERY forgiving for beginners, with minimal learning curve. *Clean up time 10 min with 3M system and approx 20 min with vanilla cup. A bit longer when spraying shellac. *Ability to spray unthinned material coupled with the 3M 2.0 system and 1.8mm/2.0mm tip *Durable, reliable, versatile, excellent build quality and fantastic customer support *Quick swap with 3M disposable cups for longer spraying sessions (Prefill additional cups, seal with plug, then invert the cup to keep filter wet.) Very convenient feature! *Material use efficiency (Uses less material vs airless systems. Approx 1.25 gallons of SWUETE for 2 coats on 18 cabinet doors. *Included hose is more than adequate, as opposed to some testimonials recommending "whip hose" CONS: *1.3mm needle included is not practical for most users (In hindsight, I should've bought the Hobby Pro 2 which includes a 1.8mm tip) *MUST puchase additional accessories to increase versatility and function - 1.5mm tip/1.8mm tip/2.0mm tip ($58.95 each) - 3M PPS 2.0 pressure cup 13.5oz ($45.99) - 3M PPS 2.0 adapter ($35.16) - 3M PPS refill kit disposable cups ($33.74) TOTAL COST: $864.38 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *UPDATE 4/14/25: : Sliding closet doors - Used included bottom feed cup - Impressive result with 2.0 mm tip, with super thick cheap Kilz 2 primer and cheap Behr latex paint (60-70 sec equates to very little to no thinning) *UPDATE 10/22/25: New primed MDF cabinet doors. Sanded primer with 400 grit prior to painting with SW Urethane Trim Enamel (Semi Gloss Rosemary) Excellent self levelling. - 3M PPS Series 2.0 Pressure cup - 1.5mm tip @ 28 sec on Ford cup. 4 inch fan and 4 inch stand off. 1st coat: Amazing finish, but time consuming, as this setting only covers 2 inches for each pass at 50% overlap. - 1.8mm tip @ 32 sec on Ford cup (very little thinning) 8 inch fan and 6-7 inch stand off.: 2nd coat (Final coat and NO SANDING BETWEEN COATS): WOW! Very Impressed with its performance! I would rate it at 90% from Pro Grade finish. Total time spent: approx 1 hour for 18 doors for 1 coat each! Im confident this system coupled with the 3M 2.0 pressure cup can spray SWEUTE with NO thinning. Planning on spraying SWEUTE on interior doors without thinning using 1.8mm tip (Will update after) *UPDATE 11/25/25: - 2.0mm tip Stix Primer UN-thinned. No problem at all! Coated nicely! (See pics) *UPDATE 3/31/26 I’m continually amazed by this machine. It’s a true workhorse and produces a beautiful finish with each use. It’s easily one of the best purchases I’ve made for my solo whole-house remodel, and it has more than paid for itself. The minimal overspray is a huge bonus for me. Primed and painted 2 metal doors (Front door and door to garage) ,6 more cabinet doors, 1 bathroom shelf and 2 mirror frames. - I no longer use the Ford cup. I now only dilute SWUETE with 5% water with the 1.5mm needle. 4 in fan & 4 inch stand off. I use the 1.8mm needle & 5% water for the larger surface area Front door/Kitchen->Garage door. - I still dont sand between coats of SWEUTE and Stix. If I took the time to sand, the finish would definitely go from 90% to 100% pro-grade. - Metal doors: Stix primer and SWUETE High Hide White Semi Gloss and Iron Ore Semi Gloss - Cabinet doors: Stix primer and SWUETE Iron Ore Semi Gloss

I bought this mainly for spraying furniture and cabinets and it has worked really well. The finish comes out smooth and even every time, no brush marks or streaks. The spray gun is easy to use. You can adjust the fan pattern to wide or narrow depending on what you're working on, which is super handy. The 25-foot hose gives you plenty of room to move around without dragging the machine with you. The turbine is powerful and the metal case feels sturdy. It's not the cheapest option out there, but you can tell it's built to last. One tip: take a little time upfront to get the paint thickness and air pressure right for whatever coating you're using. Once that's dialed in, the results look really professional. Overall I'm really happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone doing furniture or cabinet work.

I finish furniture and spray a lot of lacquer. This 2202 Semi-Pro sprayer is totally awesome. Even if you are a beginner at spraying, this machine will make you look like a pro. Very easy to use and straight forward. I have not experienced any leakage or malfunctions. It is a very versatile machine. It can spray a variety of finishes. Once you get it dialed in with the material that you are spraying, it will lay down a nice smooth and even coat. Also, it is super easy to clean when finished. I wish I had purchased one a long time ago. In my opinion, you just can't go wrong with this Fuji Spray System. Two things to note. It is a turbine, so naturally it will be a bit noisy. But to me it is not an issue because I place it as far away as I can from my spray area. The other is that it does get hot so be sure to let it cool down before removing the air hose. I would highly recommend this unit to any of my friends without hesitation.

I've been using this for about a month, and so far its been great. I've ued sprayers before, with very mixed success. I have read HVLP is the way to go, so I decided to take the plunge with this one. It was a good move. They say the sprayer is ready to use out of the box, and they are correct. I did not have to make any adjustments when i first started to get a nice layer of finish down. I used a moderately thick water-based polyurethane finish, and it went on beautifully, with the nozzle that comes with the unit. Likes: 1. The manual is great. It is well written and gets right to the point. I was refreshed by the honesty of the manual, especially when they talk about using this with latex house paint. They say it can be done but they advice that another type of sprayer might be better suited to that task, They are not trying to hype this device, they are trying to help the user get a good coating down, and I appreciated everything in their manual.. It's concise as well. 2. The system goes together quickly, there is no set-up. All of the parts are solid and substantial. The hose connects with threaded fittings, the sprayer parts are open and easy to see the compressor is not too heavy but really creates a nice flow of air. It is simple to see and undertand. 3.Adjustments, unlike most sprayers, are fairly obvious and it is easy to see their effect. 4. the spray pattern is really easy to control, and can be made into an ellipse for panels or a round spot for narrow face frames. I did notice the volume of material remains the same regardless of the pattern, so the coating thickness for the oround spot is thicker unless you either sweep the sprayer faster, or throtle down the delivery. Both patterns were clean and even. 5. The polyurethane II used was pretty thick, much thicker than lacquer, not as thick as latex house paint. I had absolutely no trouble getting it to spray evenly and consistently. I suspect their cautions about using latex are over-cautious. This unit seemed to handle a viscous liquid easily. 6. The quality of the coatings was excellent - very even, easy to apply. 7. Clean up was trivial. I rinsed the can out, filled it with water and then sprayed water into a can. I emptied the can, put in fresh water and repeated this twie. It takes about 2 minutes, and sems to work. In a month I have not had any build-up of stuff inside the unit. My older sprayers required significant disassembly for cleaning, this has not required any disassembly. Dislikes (these are very minor). The compressor is a little loud (but nothing compared to my construction compressor I use with the other sprayer). After an hour it starts to get loud, so I wore ear protection. The hose is heavy duty (which I like) but that means it is not infinitely flexible, so it is hard to set the unit down without the hose pulling it over. You really need to set up a loop to hang the device on in-between coating. I set it on the bench and twice bounced the sprayer off the follor. I can say that nothing bad happened even after I stupidly did this, so the sprayer is robust. I'm glad I got this, its a good addition to my shop. I am looking forward to finshing again (I used to dread finishing).
