  • Impressive! Simple, effective, high quality, easily removed excess transmission fluid from my truck!
Style: SiphonPro
I have a old Ford Ranger that accidentally had 2 quarts too much transmission fluid in it. I bought this pump based on the reviews and very glad I did. Easily removed the excess fluid, didn't spill a drop in the process, couldn't have been easier or more cost effective solution. You can use this pump in two ways, one for gravity feed, other other for non-gravity, which is the method I used. For non-gravity suction, you simply cut about 2 feet (or whatever length you need) off the end (the section with the brass fitting). You attach that smaller piece to the end of the one-way hand pump (arrow pointing towards fluid flow). Then attach the long hose section to other side to the pump. I removed the transmission dipstick and inserted the long end of the hose down. Keep working it down until it hits bottom, trust me it's longer than you think. You think you reached bottom, but you will go in further. I would occasionally hand pump it, if no liquid came out, it meant I haven't reached the bottom yet. Once I hit the bottom of the transmission fluid tube, it immediately started sucking up fluid with each hand pump. I used an empty 1 gallon apple juice container to empty out the fluid. The supplied tube holder worked great in holding the opposite end of the tube. I very quickly pumped out the two quarts I needed removed. Once done, I pulled the tube out and that was it. I really appreciated the quality of this pump. Seems pretty simple, a clear plastic tube and a one-way hand pump. But these guys use quality components, doesn't feel cheap in your hands, solid and strong suction. I know this isn't a throw away item, but something I can use for years. Very impressed with the results and quality! ... show more

  • Great product.
Style: SiphonPro
Works like a charm. I had to reorder it because it was missing a part the first time I got it. But, the return process worked great and I had another one on my doorstep a few days later. I was in a Hurricane Milton affected area and I needed this siphon to remove the fuel out of my two backup generators once my power came back up. Also helped my elderly neighbor to do the same. I may get a second as a backup. This kit has the bare essentials, plus the flow stop valve, plus the holder to keep it in place. The weighted end definitely helps to keep it at the bottom of the tank. Easy to operate. Plus the shutoff valve makes it easier to do the job safer and while minimizing fuel loss. Plus this setup eliminates the worry of swallowing fuel. The pump itself is easy to operate and works great. For those with health concerns, it is definitely a safer option. Probably not a bad idea to keep one at home and one in the car in case of disaster scenarios. ... show more

  • Works Very Well - Product recently updated. Make sure you get the new one with longer hose and pinch clip
Style: SiphonPro
The bulb and fitting both appear to be of durable quality. The wall of the hose is also a decent thickness and should hold up under normal use. The hose diameter is 1/2". This is a good general siphon. I would note it is a simple siphon, and the laws of physics apply! In order for it to work, the source fluid MUST be HIGHER than the destination. So if you intend to drain gas from a lawn mower, for example, the mower must be higher than the location to which you are draining off. The bulb works great to prime the tube and you get a quick, steady flow after 3-4 squeezes. The flow is strong. I don't know that it quite reaches 1 gallon per minute, but it is close. The one I bought included 8 feet of hose. I think it now is sold with 9 feet. The included retainer clip (the orange one, as of this writing) actually works well too. At first, I was like "Who needs that' but it is actually convenient if you want to continue your draining and have your hands free for something else. Apparently, this now comes with a white pinch clip to pinch off the flow. Had that been included three weeks ago when I bought this, the siphon would be a sure '5 stars'. I end up pinching it by hand. I kept the ziplock bag it came in, and keep the hose in that, to avoid any contamination, after draining gas, etc. I put that inside a gallon zipLock bag for easy carrying. ... show more

  • Works Perfect & I have 3 other syphon products to compare
Style: SiphonPro
I have 3 other siphon products, from pump types like this to electric, and this works the best and is most useful. The others are to fat to fit smaller openings, hoses that are too small, making them too slow, others have no weight to keep the hose at the bottom, so just like the girl & the 3 bears ... this one is just right. ... show more

  • Great tool, made in USA!!
Style: SiphonPro
Works great!! Pumped the gas out of a leaf vacuum motor tank in seconds, saving alot of time and mess. Saved lots of time and the smell of gasoline on my clothes and the engine.

  • I couldn't make it work!
Style: SiphonPro
I have to tell you it looked simple enough. But I never was able to get this thing to work! I turned it up down put the spout in the other end squeezed with both hands, it just would not work for me. I could never get the flow started. Now, granted, I have arthritis in my hands but if I can squeeze hard enough to compress the bulb there should have been something going on as far as sucking up the fluid it never came far enough of the tube for me to see. All I can do on this one is say that it could have been me it could have been the product. I finally found a pump that was battery operated and it worked well. ... show more

  • One of my all time most satisfying purchases.
Style: SiphonPro
This siphon is one of my most favorite possessions. I say this because it makes one of the biggest tasks of my saltwater aquarium hobby maintenance tasks a breeze. It is difficult to appreciate how wonderful this siphon is until you have used other siphons. I bought a few others within a short time span prior to purchasing the Plumber's Siphon Pro and was disappointed in them all. Each of the other siphons were frustrating to use because they had a cheap bulb that made it hard to get a siphon going and it was hard to maintain once it got going. The hoses were also cheap. With the Siphon Pro, all I do is squeeze that bulb twice and the siphon starts and keeps going until I am finished. The bulb feels great and feels high quality compared to many other siphon bulbs. The brass tip on the hose makes it much less of a pain trying to fight the hose from escaping my aquarium as I am siphoning. Today, I made my maintenance even easier after looking on the Amazon website product description of the Siphon Pro and learning that the Siphon Pro siphon rate is 1 gallon per minute. After I learned this, I no longer had to siphon the water from my tank directly into 5 gallons buckets so I could know exactly how much water I had to replace in my tank. At a siphon rate of 1 gallon per minute, I know that if I wanted to replace 10 gallons of water in my tank, all I had to do was let the siphon run 10 minutes while allowing the water to be released out of the window right next to my tank. I then just pump the 10 gallons of fresh water into my tank to replace the water I just siphoned out. This way, I cut down on the amount of water bucket-carrying during my water changes. I love this product! ... show more

  • This will transfer all fluids easily and RELIABLY
Style: SiphonPro
SO RELIABLE. If you need to transfer from another part of a vessel or tank, it is so utterly easy to start again and you just sit it below and let it transfer. You do not need to keep pumping it once you get it going. I looked at some of the 1 star reviews. I was dumbfounded how this could be, with this excellent product. Well, before you use this device, you need to see if you should use it in a gas tank on a newer model car. Not a good idea. Also, if you don't put the vessel receiving the fluid BELOW the source, you are not letting gravity do its work. This works incredibly well for what it is made for. But you have to be willing to do a little research into what NOT to use it for, and also how to use it properly. ... show more
