This is a pretty simple and compact system! It’s easy enough to put the straw filter tube into a water source and use the pump to draw it through the filter into your bag or container. The pump works very similar to a basketball pump. Easy operation. The kit comes with everything you need. A tube for the filter, another straw tube for drinking on the go, a carrying case and a plastic water bottle. The water bottle can easily clip to your pack with the included carabiner and straw top. We used a local lake to test this out. We tested the water after pumping it into a cup with a water tester and it came back at less than 100p ppm which is great! My husband drank it and said the water didn’t taste too bad or gritty. That’s pretty good since we come from Florida and there’s alot of sandy grit in our lakes. These pack up small and don’t take a lot of space in our go bags. Only weighs about a pound or two. My only drawback would be the price. I’ve seen similar sets much cheaper. But the quality is good on this set and I feel it will keep its value if an emergency occurs to feel good about the water we can get.

A must for camping. If you if you need to drink water from a stream this is an excellent tool to siphon and filter that water to make it drinkable. Easy to store in Cary. Very light and durable. Flavor comes out clear. Very well-made quality plastic. Easy to assemble. Definitely recommend for camping or hiking.

I really loved this filter. It did its job. I was using it daily to fill up gallons of jugs from my own tap water. Made the water very clean and taste better than water bottles, but after a month use, the pumping handle came off and wasn't usable anymore which was a bummer and I was gentle with it and stuff, I mean I was using it everyday and it's just common sense not to pump hard, but it still broke anyways.

I bought this for myself on my first backpacking. I did a lot of research regarding backpacking in general, but more on water filtering systems, because I was so afraid of getting a waterborne disease while camping, which would lead me to use “bathroom in wild” frequently. Anyway due to some incidents while hiking, my entire crew had to depend on this filter to hydrate ourselves. We didn’t boil the water after filtering and haha no one got sick and water tasted good! I initially planned to get a straw type filter but I think it was a good choice to buy this filter instead. Pumping was not that hard. (I’m a 5’ 2 inch petite female) I was able to do about 4 L at one sitting. Anyway well made! Small, convenient, light, and no waterborne diseases!!

It was a gift for my son. He takes it camping all the time. He travels with the Boys Scouts and sometimes the water is not very good. The machine does what it says it would. Very Happy.

Look, truth is you never know when an emergency can happen. Something as simple as this can save your life. I bought the filter because unlike gravity filters, this one is able to filter even further and finer materials. yes, it does require you to pump it and that is an effort, but the best filters force the water through a tighter weaved filter material. so I'm keeping one in the car and one in the house. You never know
