They did well protecting my blueberries from birds and squash bugs. But the cords broke pretty easily with just a few tightening and loosening sessions. I put a better quality cord in and that fixed that problem. I might get one more berry season out of them before the fabric comes apart from the zipper, but for the price I guess that is OK. The next pair I get, I will know to change the cordage, and figure out some way to reinforce the fabric to zipper connection. ... show more

I covered my blueberry bush with this net bag several weeks before fruit would be ready to pick, leaving the zipper on the side most of the fruit is growing. I pulled the drawstring mostly closed around the bottom of the bush. The fabric mesh is quite fine (weave similar to a sheer window curtain) yet the material is sturdy, so it doesn't catch on twigs and will prevent birds and most bugs from getting to the fruit. Of course you won't put it on before the bees have had a chance to pollinate but once fruit starts to form you can cover the tree or bush to avoid insect damage. ... show more

I ordered the larger bag (2 of them), but received the smaller size. I just got them out to put over my trees before the japanese beetles arrive, or I would've contacted sooner and sent them back. Although they appear a nice quality; only other complaints is when trying to tightened around tree, there is a decent space for bugs to crawl through and get to the fruit/leaves. And it lays down heavy on the top branches bending them quite a bit. Because the tree is taller than 6ft I am not able to find a post tall enough to put inside to keep the bag from crushing the branches; however that would also make it more difficult to get the bag tight around the tree so beetles/insects can't get inside. If you are purchasing this simply to keep birds off your tree it would probably be a great purchase. But for beetles/insects....not so great. ... show more

I think this is the best available. First I trimmed the branches with no fruit as to make installation easier. Then I zip tied a post (bamboo) to the tree (see pic), this created a way to mount the tent and keep most of the weight off the tree. To make the tent easier to position (I did it without help) I then rolled up the edges of the tent like you would a pair of jeans, using a large paper clip (4) to hold them. Next using a extendable telescopic paint roller handle (mr longarm painting extension pole) I was able to raise the entire tent into position and gently place it over the tent pole strapped to the tree. The tent has a tie at the bottom to cinch it. It also has a zipper to open and get fruit. After putting it on not 1 piece of fruit has been damaged by squirrels, deer or raccoons. ... show more
