Best tight gap clips for composite deck boards

I have spent hours and hours researching deck spacing clips trying to find something in the 1/8 inch spacing instead of the 1/4 inch spacing for Deckorator composite decking boards. The vast majority of the clips are 1/4 inch with screws that show between the boards. I tried one brand that advertised a 3/32 inch space, but the clips were too wide when fitting into the grooves of the boards and did not allow the proper gapping. So I tried this FRUH German design and it worked perfectly. The 1/8 inch gapping is a much nicer look and the screws do not show between the boards. Plus, the stainless steel will out live the plastic competitors by many years. ... show more

The Trex size

The Trex size worked well. They space just short of 3/16 inch. Screws are short but there is no need for longer.

Not enough screws, not long enough, poor customer service.

Limited # of screws, cant find longer screws, or buy ones that fit at a hardware store. Emailed company twice asking for guidance or a link to buy more screws or longer screws and did not get a reply. Would have just gone with the camo system or another clip system with recessed holes in the clips.
