I'm a hobbies wood worker. I have build a Mission style bed and armoire in the early 1990 and bout a Freud 10" x 50T Thin Kerf Combination Blade to use to cut the red oak 5/4 lumber up i used for the bed and armoire. It worked great but it was getting old and I thought i needed an 80 tooth blade so updated to a Craftsman finish blade. Any way I know retired and what to use dust collection in my shop and was getting dust everywhere with the 80 tooth blades i have. Pulled out the old Freud Blade I had it cut 60 percent (my perception) of the dust I was getting out the top in front of the blade. Did some reading on review and what other are saying about dust out the top in front of the saw blade and found the reviews for the updated blade that matched the one I Have and ordered it. It came the other day and i had to try it out. I installed and ran my first cut through it and was blown away by how quiet it runs on my Craftsman 315 table saw and amount of dust it creates is much much better. Is the cut as fine as the 80 tooth blades, almost I would say in the 96% or better range and i don't switch blades for rip cut or clean up as much saw dust. How quiet and smooth runnig the blade is I'm going to have double check i turn tthe saw off. Great blade ... show more

The saw blade itself is great and it really makes a difference having something of this quality. Unfortunately, not even a month in to use I noticed one of the teeth are missing. It doesn't impact the functioning but it's disappointing given the cost and also worrisome that it may happen again in the future. I decided to contact Freud directly hoping they would be helpful but unfortunately that wasn't the case. They require the product to be sent back to them, inspected and then depending on their inspection will send you a replacement. Not sure what happens if they inspect it and decide it isn't defective. Anyway, I can't go weeks and weeks waiting for another blade. So now, I'm going to return through Amazon and use the refund to order a replacement since this is a much faster option albeit still not ideal. Just figure I would save someone else the hassle of contesting them because their policy isn't exactly customer friendly. ... show more

This is my third review of a freud saw blade. I like this blade on my table saw but it is unsuitable for my sliding compound mitre saw. The blade cuts beautifully on the table saw but it is undersize which is a problem on my Hitachi sliding compound saw model CF10FSH. Its only 9-3/4" diameter, 1/4" undersize doesn't make much difference on table saw but on a mitre saw it will not complete the cut without moving the fence forward or modifying the depth stop so the blade goes down far enough to complete the cut. The Hitachi saw would be happier with a 10-1/4" (260mm) diameter blade, I had to modify the depth stop, not just adjust it so it would allow the blade to go lower as the fence would not come forward enough to complete the cut. The blade cuts very well on my table saw and leaves excellent smooth cuts. Just a note my table saw is a Tanner brand made in New Zealand in the 1950-60's which I renovated and works beautifully, so I can't say this saw blade would work perfectly on X, Y or Z brand saw but for me it is good ... show more

Until I used this blade I was still wondering why I spent so much for a saw blade. I decided a couple of months ago that I was going to take on wood working as a new hobby. I am always been reluctant to do so in fear of not have any knowledge of equipment or tools and not having anyone who I could turn to for advice. My research pointed to this blade in particular. I now understand and know the difference between a quality product version what tool manufacturers slap on a tool and call it good. This blade has single handle taken my huge fear of tablesaws almost completely away. I have never had the opportunity to cut a piece of wood on a machine with a quality blade. This thing slips through solid oak stair threads like they were made of tissue paper. I have only used it a few days but from what I have read from others who have purchased this I should be able to get lots of use. Bought the thin kerf 50 tooth combo blade for primarily ripping exotic hardwoods. This blade cuts through purple heart, paduk, hickory, etc. with ease. I was amazed at the difference between a decent Freud Diablo full kerf blade and this one. I also tend to waste less wood with the thinner blade.
