The color is exactly as described, the thickness is just like the ones you would buy in the store if you’re buying children’s uniforms. However, my son is above average height and weight at 13 he is 6‘6“ and 142 pounds, so we had to go with a men’s size medium. These ones are not as soft or moisture wicking like he favors, but I have no complaints and I would recommend.

These shorts are well made. Material is on the thicker side. Seaming and stitching is good. Pockets are a deep enough. I like the slightly stretchy material that these are made of, however, note that the waist DOES NOT stretch. I am also unclear on what the advertised "Adjustable Waist" means as I don't see a way to adjust the waist. I am a borderline size and picked the smaller size based on the "Stretch Material" and "Adjustable Waist" features listed in the description and I wish I had picked the larger size. The stretch material in the rest of the shorts (legs & rear end) make these comfortable though. And at the currently listed price (less than $15) I think they represent a good value. Overall, I am pretty happy with these shorts.

I have mostly purchased uniform shorts from Target and I will say that I prefer the cut and fit of those and the price is comparable to these shorts. These bulge out a little so they look wide but there is no give or stretch to the waist. They are fine and will work however I would prefer the Cat and Jack uniform shorts over these ones.

We have ordered French Toast shorts for all of my kids from various places including online as well as at our local Costco. For the most part we are very happy with the fabric and feel of the shorts we've purchased in the past. So I was surprised that this pair was a lot more stiff feeling than the others. Perhaps it will soften as it gets worn? As advertised there is some stretch to the material which makes it not as constricting for my son as he squats and kneels. As these are actually sized by waist size, there are no elastics or anything to cinch the waist so make sure to order the actual size. The closure is a faux button with the closure actually a hook/clasp closure so this works well for those who dislike buttons. After washing the material does wrinkle a tad but not enough that it's so bad I need to iron it. Overall this will work but my son prefers softer material. These are nice-looking uniform or dress shorts that have a bit of stretch in the main pant material. That stretch does not translate to the waistband, which is not adjustable. When I think of an adjustable waist, especially for boys' shorts, I expect an elastic band inside that can be tightened or loosened as needed to adjust the fit. For the price, these are a good deal, but I do wish these had a true adjustable waist.

If by "adjustable waist" they mean, you can wear a belt with it, then yes, these shorts are adjustable. But there is no built in adjustability as I expected. They are very good quality otherwise. They stay unwrinkled, and are comfortable for my son.
