It’s a great tank for a smaller setting (eg office) if you don’t use the filter and keep up with the water changes. The filter and divider take up way too much room for an already small sized tank. I was able to fit in sand, a plant, decor, heater, and thermometer and have swimming room. Only complaints I have are that the little clips that keep the lid attached to the tank do not stay on. They kept coming off so I had to use tape to keep them on. Plus, there’s no opening on the lid to have wires. I had to unscrew the light for that. I bought this tank cuz I really like the minimalist/modern design of it. The bottom has little stands that give it about 0.25 in elevation. But for the size of the tank and its problems as stated before, the price was very high. ... show more

As the title implies this kit could definitely contain more stuff for the money. The instructions are not easy to understand so it's best to just look at the pictures. Not sure whats up with the negative reviews, takes a few to get it set up right but I definitely like the combined light/filter power and the light is quite bright. It’s really not a bad tank. My fish, Anthony, seems to like it well enough. The filter is pretty aggressive and the light is real bright. Took him a while to adjust to keeping the light on for the day but he seems to be okay with it now. The only problems I have is I can’t find where I would get replacement parts for the filter and it’s pretty tiny. A third of the tank or so is taken up by the filter so the size shrinks even more. Not a bad tank, but you can buy bigger tanks at PetSmart for the same price. Hope this helps! ... show more

The quality is not that great for the price. The bulb for the tank gets really warm so the the water in the tank gets a little above room temperature. One of the clips for the lid will not stay on. It's not broken its just does not fit properly, and there is no hinge on the lid so you have to remove the entire thing to access the fish tank which causes the clip to fall off repeatedly. It is just a mediocre plastic tank. I would advise just getting a glass tank from a local petshop. ... show more
