I bought one of these many years ago as a gift for my father and he loved it and used it to death. After some rough handling the battery door was broken and the screen contrast decreased, which was difficult for him to see given he is 86 years old and has some vision issues. I just bought a new Franklin for him and he is very delighted. It is easy for him to use (he is VERY non-tech) and the screen and buttons are legible to him. He loves playing the word puzzles and takes it with him when he needs to wait for appointments. I think this would make a great gift in particular for an older friend or relative.

This Franklin Spelling Ace Pro & Puzzle Solver works great. Had a Webster's Spelling Corrector and it was terrible at finding the correct words.

I bought this handy little gadget to help me solve jumble puzzles but was disappointed that I couldn't use it for that purpose. BUT...I started playing with the games feature and came across a game called Word Builder--and lo and behold--if you input the scrambled letters in your jumble puzzle, this gadget gives you a list of words that can be created out of the letters--and the first option listed is usually the word you need for your jumble puzzle! The only thing I dislike is having to constantly clear the scrolling message the appears when you first turn on the gadget--every time I turn it on, I get the annoying message and have to take time to hit the Clear button before I can get to the games! As yet, I haven't used this strictly as a dictionary or thesaurus but I'm sure it'll be fine--for now, I'm just tickled pink that I can get help with my jumble puzzles!

I bought this for my husband who does crossword puzzles and word jumbles every day. He loves it. He has had a few over the years. He said this is the best one yet.

Today noticed that the display was losing some sections in various places, so I looked up my Amazon order thinking it had been several years that I’ve had this but NO!! I bought it exactly one year and 45 days ago. Unbelievable! It wasn’t even used weekly, so there’s no excuse for that. Don’t bother, it’s not worth the money.
