This is a favorite of cannabis growers. But don't let that put you off. It's wonderful soil and recommended by several houseplant experts, like "The Aroid Wiki". It does well for seed starting, depending on the plant. Micro greens for example love the stuff. I plant micro greens seeds in it with no amendments and they love it. I use it as the base for all my custom potting mixes. Plants seem to love it. It's really dense and heavy so most houseplants need a bunch of extra drainage and aeration. For example in an aroid mix only a little bit is used. But it's got great nutrients in it and great moisture retention. For my houseplant use a bag goes a long way. You can get it a lot cheaper if you live near a good indoor garden store but with shipping, this is a decent price.

I really like this potting soil and is the only one I use for my vegetable garden. I have two 4'x6' raised beds plus 5 tubs. I raise tomatos, garlic, lettuce, raspberries, peppers, strawberries, and asparagus. I wouldn't use anything else. It is pricey, however well worth the cost. All the vegetables are doing well

Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil is one of the best that I have encountered. I grow all of my plants and flowers indoors. I live in an apartment, and I don't have outdoor space, but I have loads of windows with great light, as well as grow lights. When I used other brands of planting soil, many of my plants died soon after sprouting, and many never sprouted at all. This soil has had a 100 percent success rate with everything that I have planted. I am both pleased and amazed. There is nothing more disappointing than planting seeds that die in the soil without ever sprouting. I know that the quality and source of the seeds is important, but that hasn't been a factor with this soil. Everything has sprouted, including some very difficult to grow ranunculus seeds and begonia seeds. There has been little for me to do but watch my babies grow!
