My cat is older so I was worried about him slipping but the material squares stuck perfectly and don't shift. I hate the look of regular carpeted kitty condos and all the hair that collects. This is sleek, easy to clean, and he loves it! We have a pitty that wants to eat the cat food but I have it on the 1st level against a wall and it works out great. I debated how to rate this. Overall, it's a nice cat tree. It's sturdy, it doesn't wobble, for for a tall tree, that's all great. We needed something tall enough for the cat to get up to a basement window set 68" above the ground and this is perfect. The cat this was purchased for likes to sleep on hard, flat surfaces, so we debated leaving off the fluffy pieces that get velcroed to each level. But this cat also has really hairy feet and we were afraid she'd slide too much. But we did have a problem when assembling, which is that the two thin flat boards that are supposed to form the back and front of the cat cave on the bottom didn't fit right. The holes were not drilled in the right place to allow us to actually attach them. You could probably fix this by trimming a bit of the top or edge with a razor or saw (it's too thick to cut), but we didn't have anything like that on hand when moving my daughter and her cat into her new place. So, no cave. Kind of disappointing, not the end of the world or anything. ... show more

My cats and I love this tree. Its elegant and matched the other decor in our house unlike the usual trees most people have. The base is very sturdy and my cats love how tall it is. Especially knowing they can get far away from our new puppy. I love know that its sturdy enough that it wont tip even when my huge black cat climbs up to the top. The instructions were kind of confusing I messed up at least 3 times because they weren't very specific. They both love using the many various perches especially since they can both be on it. The scratcher it comes it is essentially carpet and my cats dont really care for it. Im not entirely sure what the purpose of the random 6 elastic velcro straps are for, i guess its and astetic thing? All the bedding is nice and soft. Hair will cling to it though. They say their washable but should only be hand washed and left out to dry? Overall amazing perchase and worth every cent!! ... show more

I bought this for 2 cats in addition to 2 other towers they have around the house. The tower is super easy to assemble and looks nice, but it's definitely wobbly. It requires anchoring to a wall. I have it in an area where it is free standing so the only thing I can think to do is add weight to the base or another piece of wood to stabilize it. I might try loosening each screw and releveling to see if that might help. The first time they tried to climb up, I noticed the parts of the boards that are protruding, bend slightly when my 10 lb cat jumped on it. Sort of like a diving board. The fur pads do not cover the length of each step board and the board itself is pretty slippery. It didn't feel safe for my clumsy cat so I bought adhesive backed carpet for the exposed parts. The photos of the tower with the cats is a bit deceiving. There isn't as much clearance between the levels for cats to jump. Mine have to crawl or duck their heads to keep from hitting the level above. My cats aren't interested in the fur balls, bands, or the scratch pad. I'm guessing bc of the clearance issue or slippery edges. 1 cat has slept in the cubby a couple of times. Otherwise, neither of them play or climb it after the first day. I really wish I had opted for a floor to ceiling cat climber instead of this one. The wood could be sturdier for a 10 lb cat to step without it bending. It weighs about 80 pounds so I don't even want to deal with returning it. ... show more
