    • Very Quiet when Running, and changing backgrounds is so much easier now
I have a 10' wide 6 roller backdrop system made using 10' lengths of 2" EMT electrical conduit, so quite heavy. I converted my system from chain operated to motor driven alone in one afternoon. This wasn't easy, but worked. I used nylon straps with buckles to tie each end of one backdrop to the adjacent backdrop one at a time, then removed and replaced the ends of this backdrop with the new motor drive system. I then I re-hung the roller and new ends into the existing ceiling brackets. Doing this with care one at a time this way made it possible to do alone. They are way too heavy to handle otherwise if no help is available. Now I can raise and lower any of the 6 backdrops easily from the wireless remote in the tray of my camera stand so quietly that the model frequently doesn't even know that I'm doing it. Though going with this system seemed a bit extravagant, it has proven quickly to be well worth doing. ... show more

I have had the 4 roller version of this system for quite some time and it's performed well. When I moved to a larger space I decided to invest in the 6 roller system so I could have 10 total backdrops on demand. One motor in the 6 roller system does not rotate even though the command box is sending it a signal. Doesn't matter which port I plug it into, it fails to roll in either direction. All the other motors work in every port so this is clearly an issue with this individual motorized roller. Fotoconic replied to my request for support through their website, exactly one time, asking for the Amazon order number and a video of the issue. I provided that, and it's been radio silence for 2 weeks. I attempted to resolve the issue through Amazon, but they are only offering a refund and I must return the system. For anyone who has used one of these, you know they are not easy to put up. I also can't be without 6 of my backdrops while this exchange takes place. Should be a simple enough thing for the manufacturer to be able to send out a single motor in exchange for the one that doesn't work, but I guess that's asking too much. So, when these work, they do work amazingly well. But if one goes south on you, I dare say you are probably on your own. ... show more

The instructions could use a bit of improvement but other than that, I would highly recommend. My box was in tact but the screws and inner parts were thrown all around inside. Some of the protective styrofoam was even broken so I wasn't sure if my product was damaged upon delivery but fortunately everything worked just fine. I definitely can't blame the seller either because this unit was mailed "in a box" that was inside another box that was completely surrounded by thick packaging crate styrofoam. Seems like the shipper may have tossed this around quite a bit and didn't handle it properly. Install can be accomplished with one person but it's much better with two. The reason I say that is because I purchased 2" metal poles from my local hardware store to support the backgrounds from sag over time. 2" was too big to fit inside the roll that comes with the backgrounds so I had to tape the background to my metal poll and electronically roll the background onto the pole. I believe if you go down to 1 3/4" if you buy support poles, you will be fine to just open a new background and connect to the support system. The support system has expanding rollers that widen as you turn them to fill and secure itself on the inside of your roll. The system operates very smoothly and quietly. You will benefit from purchasing some leader bars otherwise you will need to place a couple of clamps across the bottom of the paper roll to keep it from rolling up all the way and handing loose. The weight of the clamps help it to roll up tighter the same way the leader bar would. I will eventually invest in the leader bars. UPDATE: I've had this system for about 5 months now and have also purchased the leader bars. I've added pictures for your reference. The first photo is with clips on the ends of the paper. The second photo has the leader bars for a more streamlined look and functionality. The system still works flawlessly. Very easy to just grab the remote control and let down the color you want to use. When done, grab the remote again and it rolls up with the push of a button. My system is mounted on the wall but it can also be mounted on the ceiling. I chose the wall because of the direction of my studs. Both ways work just fine. ... show more

About to install it, but the directions are next to useless. Why so many Chinese companies refuse to hire someone fluent in the language of the countries they sell their product in is beyond me. What IS written is not clear. The photos are few and very poor. No measurements are provided. They mention metal poles to use to mount the backdrop rolls on, but don't say if they are mandatory...guess I'll find out. I'll update my review after I install it. ... show more

    • Good for studio. Would be better on ceiling than wall.
I love the ease of using it. However we have tall ceilings so had to hand it on the wall. Backdrops are always getting bunched up on each other since it is staggered. Once you get them coming down it works great.
