Concepts like using it for sleep tracking is interesting but the issue found is that the battery life is not long enough to manage a full day of usage without needing to charge it at night time. It is very comfortable to wear and have not had any complications with it after 5 months so I say it is a very good watch for the intentions of it. I've had this watch (Gen 5e with leather band) for two weeks now, and after playing around with it and doing one factory reset, I'm pleased with the battery life and functions. The watch body is very substantial, with a polished nickel finish and ridges around the watch face. There is one button on the right, and the watch body comes out on either side to protect it from being bumped. The back is a textured plastic that feels very solid. It is not a lightweight watch, to be sure. But I've gotten used to the heft, even after not wearing a watch since I was a teenager. The band is genuine leather on the outside with a silicone back. I'm hoping it forms to my wrist more with a little wear, but it's comfortable, and it has never snagged on any hairs. The first few days, I was playing with features more, and added some apps. I wasn't familiar with the watch face customizations, so I put some non-stock watch-face apps on it. I put Messages, Outlook, and the Roku remote apps on it. And I enabled developer options (which seems to have had a negative impact on battery life). My goal for a smart watch was really just the notifications so I don't miss meetings, emails, texts, etc, if I'm away from my phone. After a little more than a week, and having battery life issues, I did a factory reset and paired it again with my phone, knowing what I wanted to use this time. I did not opt for any of the fitness tracking features (heart rate sensor, basically). I think it still runs, but no apps are using it. I uninstalled everything on the stock setup that was allowed (Facer and Spotify and a few others). I never enabled the permissions for sensors, so no apps should be using those. The only thing I added was Messages so I could respond to texts without getting my phone out. Since doing this a couple days ago, my battery life is way up. At the moment, I'm 9 hours since unplugging it, and it is at 70% battery with the default power settings ("Daily Battery Mode"). I haven't answered calls or used the speech-to-text, but unless you are doing that a lot, the battery is plenty for all day. Before doing the reset (with developer mode enabled, which I think was the culprit), it was down to about 30% after 8-9 hours. In summary, for my use case (notifications, calendar, time) it works great. I got it on sale, so it was even more worthwhile. It looks nice, and the interface is fairly responsive. My first smart watch nice intro in the novelty item. Came used, looked new. Not sure what kind of battery life most people expect but I charge 2x a day, during my commute to and from work, usually around 20% by the time I charge each time. I find the provided band a bit uncomfortable but that's easily replaced. The provided charger seems to have a very weak magnet to keep it in place but again I'm not really sure if that's usual or not. Since I'm new to the watch, I'm trying to figure out how to make better use of it when it's not connect with my phone, ie hiking or if I leave my phone at my desk while I'm walking around the office. Mainly use it to track sleep and steps. Does those jobs fairly well. No expert at tracking sleep so even if that's inaccurate it's still more accurate than me. ... show more

Since the moment I got this watch it's been great. Overall functions are great and setup wasn't difficult. My chief complaint is the battery life, I've had to purchase multiple chargers so I can charge the watch 2-3 times a day. There are settings that reduce battery life but I have most of those disabled. I don't use for voice communication or music controls, only notifications and it alerts when I get a call. I don't spend much time on it and I have the screen off most of the day but the battery is just inefficient. Otherwise great quality and I will look into the newer editions to see if the batteries are better. The leather band has held up very well also. ... show more

I wanted a watch that looked nice but was also a smart watch and this watch is awesome! Downside is it only holds a charge up to 24-28 hours and I wish it would hold at least 2-3 days before needing to be charged would be super helpful. I do like that once the watch battery dies, it still gives you the time on the face. The sleep tracker sometimes I feel like it isn't that accurate but overall, this is a really good watch. ... show more

There are two metal rings beneath the watch that represent positive and negative poles for charging. Due to moisture, especially if you use the watch for exercise, the rings may come off and you cannot no longer charge the watch. Mine outer ring came off. I tried sticking it back with a super glue and it come off again (possibly due to sweating). Very frustrating mechanism. Don't go this type of charging mechanisms.
