I bought this timer to control times that my plant lights are on or off. Although programming it isn't entire intuitive, once set up you should not have to program it again except to change the time for DST which is easily done by pressing two buttons simultaneously. You can program up to 10 programs for different days of the week. There are two plugs on this timer, but all programs are applied to both plugs. For example, in my case, I want my plant lights to go on at 8 am and turn off at 12 am every day, so I needed to set up only one program. If you like, you can set up programs for electrical products to go off and on at different times on different days. What I very much like about this timer is that you don't lose the programming if the electricity goes off. It has battery powered memory that retains all of your settings. You don't even have to reset the time of day as this is retained and kept current in memory. When plugged in, it covers only one outlet leaving the other open for use. UPDATE 04/18/20: I have been using this timer for my plant lights for over a year, and it has worked flawlessly. The only times I have had to fool with it was to adjust the time for DST. I should stress at this point it would be a good idea to save the instructions in a place you can find them as some of the settings are not intuitive. If you have the instructions, changing setting is not at all difficult, but sometimes you need to press two buttons for some settings. Another recommendation is to pay attention to settings displayed on the screen. I recently had to unplug the timer, and after plugging it in again, the lights kept going off when they weren't supposed to. At first, I thought the timer was malfunctioning. I finally noticed an "R" in the display and realized I must have accidentally pressed the random button. I pressed the Random button to turn this feature off, and now the timer is working perfectly again. UPDATE 03/30/21: I have been using these timers for over 2 years, and now have 5 of them. To-date, none of them has failed. Once the setting are done, you don't have to worry about resetting anything except DST which needs to be changed twice a year. This requires only to push two buttons simultaneously as mentioned previously. If you decide to buy these timers, make sure to keep the instructions available in case you ever need to change the settings. The original setup is not intuitive, but not difficult at all if you have the instructions handy. The only inconvenience I have experienced is that some of my outlets were installed so the timer is upside down. This is not at all any fault of the timer. UPDATE 02/27/23: I have now have had 4 of these timers that have been in use for over 4 years. Not one of them has failed. I recently bought another set of them. They are reliable and very easy to set up if you have the instructions handy. In the past, I have had other timers that failed, and they have all been replaced with FosPower timers. I am very happy with it and would recommend it. I hope this review was helpful for you, and I will update my review if my opinion changes.

I now have 8 of these little timers. With 7 day programs and an easy on/off manual switch I use them everywhere. You can't beat the price and usefulness of this box. It only takes up one space on the outlet and it provides two switched outlets. To program, I take it out of the wall and sit down with it at a table--doing all 7 days takes time if you want each day different. The display functions work for weeks without being plugged in so its really easy to move it around to program and then go plug it back in. The instructions are a bit tiny to read but easy enough to understand. I downloaded some and use my PC to read them rather than try to squint at the tiny insert that is packed in the box. I also use one to switch on/off my pool pump by having this timer power up a relay box to the pool--way better than those ugly mechanical dial things used for hot water tanks and pool pumps. If there is a better timer anywhere on the market I haven't seen it yet.

Thanks little timer for the money I got two for under 17 bucks. First off I want to say this is a real review. As we know there's a lot of fakes out there. Anyways, I bought this for my aquarium set up. I run my UV sterilizer on one of the timers to extend the life of my UV bulb which are very expensive to replace. The other I use in my second aquarium to turn on and off lighting. At first the instructions we're a bit confusing. But just go on YouTube and watch the video and it's really really simple. I like the fact that you can set for different days of the week. For example, I run my sterilizer Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. it has several different program settings so I can turn my lights on my aquarium in the morning for a short time turn them off back on in the late evening and back off at dark this coincides with my Full Spectrum Lighting set on blue to simulate sunrise and sunset for my fish. I have been using this timer for more than 5 years now. I bought 2 more to replace my older analog timers and use one as a countdown-to-off timer for a fan. It MAY take some time to learn the programming but once you learn it, it is simple, really, and much more versatile than the analog timers. (plan your programings on paper first). 10 individual programming = more than you ever need for many variations of on/off. Plus, it has daylight saving time. Plus, a countdown-to-off function and a countdown-to-on function. And manual override button. I haven't had the need to use the "random" button yet. (1) quality product, (2) quiet, (3) doesn't feel warm when in "off" intervals. Price history: 2pack $17.99 on Oct 7th 2023.

I have an identical one I have had for years with no problems. This was a big surprise. I fully charged both timers. Programmed one of the timers as directed. Worked perfectly for 2 days. Then I checked and it had completely lost its memory as if someone had pressed the reset button. Replaced it with the other one in the box. It worked for less than a day when the same thing happened. (I have a service provided by my homeowner's insurance that monitors my home electrical service for surges and brownouts. None had occurred.) I returned them both for a refund. I hope this does not indicate a decline in quality for products from Fospower.

We bought these for our chicken house so we could set the lights to turn on at a certain time to make the chickens lay eggs. It works perfectly and yes, our chickens have produced 10 times the eggs they were! My husband set it up and said it was not hard at all! I would recommend these to anyone!
