  • Fantasic amp competes with audiophile hifi amps
Model: V3
My main audio system is a tri-amplified Linkwitz Audio Artistry system. When I started putting together my upstairs system, I wanted to tri-amp but not break the bank. So I started with various Fosi amplifiers. I bought one of the V3 amps for main speakers (Triangle Acoustics from France). After listening for several months, I opened the amp and upgraded to Burr-Brown op-amps. After a few more months, a friend brought over a Carver tube amplifier. We rolled EL34 and KT88 power tubes and had a great time, but the little Fosi V3 seemed to keep up. I ordered two more. The system sounds fantastic, has plenty of power, and competes with far more expensive setups. I bought one for my son. You know it's a good product when you keep buying more of them. They sound great, have plenty of power, and easy to use. They're upgradable and punch way above their weight. Technological progress is amazing. A decade ago, I'd never think solid-state would sound this good, but here we are. ... show more

  • Cannot beat this value--this is a $500 amp for $100
Model: V3
It powers my speakers just fine: 75 watts bookshelf. It picks up noise--which means it's accurate. I can turn turn it up full power with no-signal and get no noise! It WILL pick up noise from your equipment (again THAT'S A GOOD THING!!!) I will say the advertising is deceptive: "300 watts per channel" is the absolute maximum this thing will do at 4 ohms IF YOU BUY THE EXPENSIVE POWER ADAPTER. Either way typical "good" speakers are 6 or 8 ohms meaning you're really getting closer to 75 watts per channel--which is more than enough for bookshelf speakers. ... show more

  • Underpriced, doesn't come close to specs. Nevertheless...
Model: V3_48V/5A
300 wats per channel? (RMS)? not in this universe. Some dubious HiFi manufactures, back in the late '60s, used a rating system of "IPP" (Instantaneous peak power) Which was the momentary highest possible power an amp could deliver before producing more distortion than music, or perhaps exploding (hyperbole). This seems to be the case with most of these Chinese mini amps. That being said, if you can get by with a realistically rated 75 WPC X2 amp this might be a good choice, your cup of tea. Actually, it sounds pretty good especially after installing a pair of Sparkos op amps I had laying around. I'm using it to drive a pair of Yamaha outdoor speakers on our screened porch, replacing a Dayton DAT-120. This little Fosi V3 is defiantly a step up in sound quality. The size is right, the price is right, light on bass, and it works pretty well for a tiny class "D" amp. Did I mention the price? ... show more

  • You can't beat it
Model: V3_48V/5A
Lots of clean power from tiny device (I bought with the 48V PSU). The only thing I can reasonably say I miss is a power button, so volume could be left as-is when turned off. (On-off is achieved with the volume knob.) But they absolutely know what they're doing, and perhaps adding that button would have increased size. ... show more

  • Banging unit
Model: V3_48V/5A
Works great as a pre-amp with my home theater set up. Was unsure because it cost so little compared to others but sounds great. Super easy setup and operation.

  • Great little amp for the money.
Model: V3_48V/5A
The media could not be loaded. Ordered the Fosi V3 to replace a Fosi 20a I had purchased some time ago. The main differences are, the V3 is a more simplistic setup, promises more power per channel, and uses high quality parts internally. It can come with either a 32 volt or 48 volt power supply. Opt for the 48 volt power supply, you will not regret it. The larger more powerful power supply will get you higher volumes with better quality output On the back side of this unit are connects for a pair of speakers and an analogue input. The older Fosi 20a just did not have as much power particularly with only the supplied 24 volt power supply and fell short driving my Polk Atrium 6 speakers at loud volume. Now, I am using this as a garage system. Hence, the reason I chose to go on the cheap with this system. But....the Fosi V3 got decent audio reviews so what the heck. The garage system is a music system to accompany working on projects or the cars vs. just sitting and listening to music like I do with my home systems that cost much much more. So after connecting up an older generation Echo device to stream music, I used 14 gauge audio cable to connect the speakers to the amp. Very easy to do. The result is as you see it in the attached video. Loud enough for me and the overall sound quality is very good. So, this unit has few connectivity options but what it does, it does well. What I really like about this amp is its small size allowing me to store it in my garage wall cabinet. I would imagine this amp could be part of a home system in a small to mid size room Just be sure to match it up with a pair of good speakers. Speakers with a high efficiency rating will serve you best that is 90db or better. Recommended. ... show more

  • Just not getting decent volume even after checking line level
Model: V3
So I want to like this amp but just can't love it. I bought it for my wife's hobby room to use with her Sony turntable. The turntable is set to line level and I've verified the line voltage is hitting over 1 V regularly with my scope. The Fosi feeds a pair of ML bookshelves at 5 Ohm, 92dB sensitivity that I know will get plenty loud at 40-50 watts as I have 3 pairs in different places around my house. But even wide open the FOSI just won't get to a satisfactory volume level. I have the 32V power supply so I know I'm not going to get max rated power at 4 ohms but based on my math I should still be getting enough power to bring the ML's to a very reasonable volume in the 12x12 room they're in. I've had the unit too long to return it and it does work but it's a definite buyer beware for me. ... show more

  • great thing for little money
Model: V3
I really like how this little thing sounds. I've heard a lot about class D amplifiers, but I had no experience listening to them. When I listened to it for the first time after unpacking it, I was shocked, I didn't believe that something so small could play so well. But of course there are certain nuances, but they are not significant. Overall, I'm very satisfied and recommend it to those who are looking for inexpensive but relatively good sound. Delivery was fast, it came in good condition. ... show more
