Got a batch of 4 for a good price. They work and will protect your hands from cuts. I've been hand washing them. Ran one through the dishwasher and it came out ok. They can be worn on either hand. I think they'll shrink if you were to put them through a hot dryer. Fit is tight, get the large size. I tested them against reasonable cuts and they protect, but if you were to accidentally 'stab' it will hurt! The point would definitely penetrate, they aren't made to protect against that. For everyday slicing I use it on my left hand and it works perfectly well. i don't see any need to go higher end or spend more.

They run quite large. I have to wear latex gloves over them to get them tight enough to be able to be useful.
