One of the stumbling blocks I’ve always experienced at the prospect of building some structure outside is the foundation. So much of my land is too rocky, sloped, muddy… digging and establishing a foundation has always stopped me in my tracks. But now: for something simple like a deck or small shed? Lay down some crushed gravel, using these to hold the support beams in place? I no longer have that obstacle. And to think: small, thin pieces of plastic that not only can hold and bear significant loads compared to their side, but also promise to last decades! That’s pretty amazing. I’m building an all-season gazebo (at least, meant to stand through all four seasons, whether or not I’m actively using it) to replace a 2.5 season cloth canopy. Essentially a deck with a light roof over it. I am using these to provide the foundation support- building the ground-level deck that I will then build atop. I’ve been eyeing these for a while, and I’m glad I finally took the time to investigate.

My back appreciates these. My delivery driver's back probably does too. These are a great alternative to the concrete version. We're using them for a small fort for my kids. So far they're easy to work with. They're compatible with 2-by boards and 4x4 posts.

If you want to build a floating deck, these Fort Decking Foundation Deck Blocks are a great product to DIY the project! The hardest part of building anything is making it square, and these "beam holders" allow you to line up your wood perfectly without a bunch of additional squaring up tools. They provide a large solid base for your posts if you're going vertical. A rubber mallet would work great to pound these in, But if you don't have one, and you're desperate to get a deck up, some padding over the wood and a regular hammer or heavy tool would work. I think these blocks will save you hours and hours of squaring up and double checking. They feel super heavy duty as well and I love that no wood will be touching the wet ground and rotting where I can't see it. These make a big project simple, like an adult Lincoln log or Lego project. Great solution.

I'm building a low height deck on an existing patio and first found these when looking for something lower than the standard heavy concrete blocks. These are roughly the same cost, but so much lighter and lower to the ground while actually offering more vertical support for the 4x4 post. Laying them out and adjusting is a breeze since they are so light. Absolutely recommend.

These do seem to be heavy duty enough to support specified lumber and loads. I'll try them out but my concern is how they might hold up to freezing moisture in colder climates and if that might crack them? Too soon to tell.

These are very similar to the more expensive tough blocks that I have seen advertised at the big box stores. They will hold a 4 x 4 post or any 2 x 4 or 2 x 6 2 x 8 etc. You will have to level the ground in order to use these as they are not meant for unlevel terrain. Simple to use an inexpensive considering you don’t have to lug a bunch of heavy concrete bases around.

If you have level ground these are a time and back saver. They are light and easy and to move. They are a bit pricey but no heavy bases to carry around. Will fit 4x4 or 2 by no problem
