I bought this remote to use with my Sony FX30, and it was a little bit of a chore to get working. At first the Sony FX30 paired with the remote almost immediately. But... after 10-20 seconds the remote would not work, and I would have to re-pair it with my Sony FX30. It just would not stay connected. Well, after some research I found that the latest firmware of my FX30 was not compatible to this remote, many people were having this same problem, the remote will not stay connected to the Sony FX30. The Answer!!! I also found that Aodelan knows about this problem and has fixed it with a newer firmware update. So, if you have a Sony FX30 with the latest firmware update and this remote is not working, go to Aodelan support and download the latest firmware update for this remote. I downloaded the firmware, installed it and it works great with my Sony FX30. FYI... You will see a C USB connection at the base of this remote. Take care my friends.

Simple and gets the job done. It connected to my Sony A7C very quickly and wasn't a hassle to use. It's very lightweight and I would say ranks average on durability. I wish you didn't have to be pointing directly at the camera as I was using this for group photos, but I understand with these devices that is typical, won't knock the review for it. Great product.

Make sure you turn it off after use otherwise you will have a dead battery after a single use of burst shots. I forgot to turn it off after using it once and I came back to a dead battery. 12/01/2024 I had to buy a second remote because I lost the battery holder for the first. The second remote doesn't stay connected to the camera for more than a few shoots. I used the new remotes holder on the orignal one and the shooting function works fine. But with this I would not buy a third. I would suggest if you plan on using the remote a lot that you buy something from Nikon itself. So the second remote I purchased, the butter bottom is now not working. DO NOT BUY This product especially if you have a nikon camera.

This is a pretty basic remote for a Sony camera, but it’s been perfect for my setup. I’m using it with an FX-30 mounted to a tripod and teleprompter, and it works flawlessly for controlling focus and zoom. It’s easy to use — just turn it on and make your adjustments. I also tested it with an EV-10, and it worked great there, too. One bit of advice: connecting the device is simple, as long as you follow the instructions included in the box. It’s a little confusing at first — “scanning” mode isn’t looking for new devices; it’s looking for previously paired ones. You’ll need to put both the camera and the remote into pairing mode to get it connected. Overall, it’s a great device, and I’m really happy with it!
