TLDR: Personally wasn't a fan of the compact size for my individual needs, but did love how quiet it is! For my personal preferences, I did return this and opt for a full-size keyboard instead. I purchased both this compact keyboard and a matching full-size keyboard from the same company; partially to compare which size I prefer for my work desk, and partially because I noticed the color arrangement of the keys was different between the two. I also purchased these with the intention of only keeping one, so I have not had them long enough to test longevity and battery life. I used each keyboard for a few days over the course of one week before switching to the other to compare. Overall, this is a great compact keyboard. It's not *too* small and would be great for a small desk or other small space. Unfortuantely, it didn't feel great on my arthritis and carpal tunnel, so I definitely prefered the larger full-size keyboard there. Also, this was a small annoyance, but the keyboard uses one AAA battery while the mouse uses one AA battery. Ideally, they would both use the same type of battery, like the full-size did; but this was just a minor inconvience that I knew about beforehand based on the listing. I love how quiet (almost silent!) the compact keyboard is! It's the perfect noise level if you work in a shared office/open-concept office/etc. like I do. On the other hand, the full-size keyboard is quieter than my old, wired keyboard provided by work, but not as silent as this compact keyboard because it's typewriter style). Obviously that will be a personal preference and different for everyone, because I would love the typewriter clack if I were in my own space. Lastly, I compared the color arrangement of the keys because I noticed they were a bit different in the photos prior to the purchasing. The color arrangement of the compact keyboard was very evenly distributed and look really visually pleasing. In comparison, the colors on full-size keyboard seem to be arranged very randomly; there's A LOT of gray with very little black, and each color appears to mostly be in strange clumps. The colors just aren't evenly distributed, which makes it look a little messy. Compact is better here. Oh I forgot about the mouse. I personally didn't use the mouse, as I use an ergonomic one specific to my needs. But I like that both keyboard and mouse share one USB (takes up fewer USB ports!) and you can choose not to use the mouse by simply leaving out the battery.

I love the product. It is adorable and looks exactly like the picture. The only annoying thing is you have to hold down the function key in order to turn up and down the volume, and that's just me being lazy. Other than that, I love the key board and mouse. It does make a lot of noise when typing so if you're not used to it, just be aware that that is a thing about the keyboard.

UPDATED: Connected both to a higher performance ubuntu system instead of a raspberry pi, and both mouse/keyboard work great. Previous review: Caveat, I'm using this with a Raspberry Pi. The keyboard functions normally and is very nice for my kid. The mouse has a very slow lag. It's basically unusable. This could be due to the raspberry pi performance, but I read another review that complained about the mouse sharing the bluetooth connection with the keyboard causing lag. I will find another mouse in the meantime as the keyboard is pretty good.

Overall I am returning it & purchasing a different set. For $40 it's not at all worth keeping. I liked the color in the pic alot but when I received it, the colors are off from the photo, like the "red" buttons are actually a candy apple color, the purple/grey, & yellow & just all of them don't look right together. If I'm being honest it's quite ugly. I use it to play Steam games and I have to be parallel the usb receiver, with the thin glass cabinet door open to get a good connection from the mouse. The response on it is not good & it freezes up alot. If you're just gonna use it for school or personal whatever it would probably be fine but I can't have a mouse like this for games. I'm not playing anything ultra high rez or high frame rate either. I will say I'm OK with the typewriter style keys but I did purchase a slim/silent instead.

I got the blue keyboard and I get so many compliments on it. The keys are round and they have that clacking noise. The mouse on the hand is extremely quiet. I absolutely adore it and so do my coworkers. It does go on power saving mode automatically and it was an easy to set up. Overall I love it.
