This is a very solid piece of furniture. It's very heavy but was very easy to assemble. No special tools required. I unboxed and put it together in under an hour. I bought this shelf because I own many LPs and needed a better way to store them off the floor. It is often hard to find shelves that can withstand the weight of LPs. This little shelf, made of sturdy metal and wood does not disappoint. It was also relatively easy to put together--if you know what you are doing. I've had experience putting these kinds of shelves together, so did do with no issue. But there were little to no instructions on how to set this shelf up.
