I've long been a miniature painter and have wanted to take better pictures of them, but was hesitant to drop too much money on a lightbox. The 10" Foldio is great, both for its size and its cost. The pictures are much better than taking them without a lightbox, however, there are still shadows since the included lights are mounted along the front edge of the "cieling" and there are no light sources on the sides of the box (as is typical for most lightboxes). The only other gripe is with the packaging and mounting of the background. It comes with several colors (white, black, gray, greenscreen), all of which are gently folded within the packaging. Unfortunately this fold doesn't leave a perfectly smooth surface for use as a background. The background is held in place by two small tabs int eh housing, but it easily slips out of place unless secured for something (like a small piece of tape. Overall, it's nice for the price, but if you really want to take excellent photos, you may want to look at a better unit. ... show more

    • Solid piece of kit, but maybe spring for the newer version if you can.
Works as advertised out of the box, simply setup, instructions are easy to follow, but the assembly... leaves something to be desired. Magnets are sloppily covered with wrinkled foam tape, some are not in the correct place and the tape is sticky and cumbersome. As a handy person, I remedied this myself, but I was disappointed to have to DIY a solution. Hopefully the newer versions don't suffer the same lack of quality, considering the cost increase.     • Good, but not as bright as I thought it'd be
This is not a bad product at all. Compared to the others available on Amazon, it's probably one of the better ones. I like how it connects via magnets, as opposed to snaps. It's just easier. And I do like how the LED strips are mounted. But they're not as bright as I thought they'd be. In hindsight, I might have chosen one from another manufacturer that has the LEDs mounted in a circle on the top, or one that also has a lighted platform. I do like that there are different color backgrounds included. But the method of attaching them isn't that great. Bottom line: this is a good, not great, product. It works fine and it does the job. But considering some of the drawbacks, it's not a great value for the money. ... show more

Nice little light box. I suggest using clothes pins or clips to hold together, the magnets arent quite enough.

Pretty good product if you need to take photos of moderately sized item. LEDs are nice and bright, though I wish they were linked together instead of needing 2 separate USB cables for power, it would keep things neater. Doesn't come with an adapter though these days I suppose everyone has a drawer full of them anyway. For the price though, a solid way to take better photos. ... show more

It does not hold well when assembled as magnets are not strong enough. It does not include the blue backdrop which is very necessary. It has strong lights I personally don’t like that they are located at the top edge as they can interfere with your camera if you get close to the box. They will cause shadows. ... show more

I like the sleekness of this product vs other photo boxes I have used. It's compact and easy to store. My only complaint is that it is USB powered only. I had to get an adapter to plug it into a wall outlet because where I have space to use it, I don't have a way of plugging it into something USB to power it. ... show more

Flimsy and get dirty easily. Does the job but not worth the money. I bought it because I needed to take some product photos for my friend’s online store. It serves the purpose but I would have got something more durable. Updated on July: after some uses two tape that keep the magnet in place came off.
