I had no problem putting on the wheels or wheeling it around. my 'use case' is basically a substitute for a night stand and shoe stand. It's a place for bed-keyboard and bed-mouse, a phone, an alarm clock. hard drive dock. perfume and makeup. mine arrived with no damage and the wheels screwed in just fine! don't throw the box around unpacking it. don't dump it onto the floor. it feels like its made of tin. so be gentle! i see a ton of negative feedback from people who were unlucky. But a lot of it looks like they were a little too zealous with the shelf too. Its not for kicking around. fun fact, if you use string through the holes in the plates, you can hang hooks under it! and have all sortsa stuff dangle from the shelf above! really useful for all my cables and little bags of facial mask cream and a hand mirror and brush! Another version with hooks already on it, is soon to be produced in September. I advise you get this version. so you can put the hooks where you want to! get some nice little S-loopy vinyl coated loops, so no paint gets scratched. Just don't use this for heavy weight applications people. its not made for that.. X_X and Definitely don't move it around with a heavy load. Sheesh! of course your wheels will rip out! More so if the Locks on the wheels are on it! Final thought: the wheels come packaged in a little brown box kinda inside the folded up shelf. Maybe you'll miss them if you don't look carefully. box is 2 inches by 3 inches by 8 inches. 4 wheels and a flat-wrench for screwing the wheels on. Don't over tighten. The length of the shaft, is just to help get the shelf level on tile or linoleum floors. There have been quite a few negative references made to these type of shelving units. Some buyers complain that the are flimsy, and though I would not call them "heavy duty," I would call them "fairly well made." The rivets are large enough and tight enough to keep it from falling apart, at least for a while. And, while I would call them "large carts" and not a "rolling open bookcase," they will work well enough for my needs. I purchased two of them, both to be used to store boxes of CDs, DVDs, Blu-Ray discs, larger paperback reference and text books, notebooks and pens. Judging by the placement of the center shelf support, there could possibly be issues with stacking weighty things in the center of the two bottom shelves, because of possible sagging. So, I will store the heavier things on the ends of the shelves. How much weight the individual shelves can support and the maximum overall weight the wheels can support is a good question. It doesn't feel like it is made for a bunch of small but heavy kitchen appliances or stacks of canned foods. Since I have yet to test them, I leave this consideration for a later time. Now, the wheels have been a major bone of contention among buyers. Some see no problem at all, some return them because the wheels won't thread at all, some claim they merely need a little axle grease. First of all, if you open your box containing the wheels and there is no flat wrench in it, you will need to find one. You will need it to properly tighten the wheels completely. Just don't over tighten them. It is possible to thread the wheels without the wrench, but not as easy. You will definitely not need axle grease. If you find that the wheel won't thread, you might have to spend a little extra time on them. I found that moving them from one hole to another can help. But, what worked best was, simply twisting it clockwise then counter clockwise, back and forth several times, until it loosened up some, just enough to continue threading. Thread until it won't thread any further, then do the back and forth until it continues to thread again. I did this several times on two of the wheels. The screws tend to want to drag against the insides of the openings, that's all. They are not as heavy duty as I would have liked, but, of the two I purchased, I saw only one very small chip, no scratches, no dents, no loose locking devices, no bent shelves, no real damage, whatsoever! Hooray!!! And, they were packed very well with Styrofoam and 1" thick cardboard. I would not say they are a 5 Star product. I would, however, rate them overall a 4.5 Star product, and I can see many uses for them. A good purchase and I would buy them again! ... show more

I try to avoid buying products from China though could not find one of these made in the USA. I hate to assemble items but this was so darned easy just to pull up and it moves into place. All I had to do was to screw in the wheels! Lots of room and fits very well in my pantry.
