  • Good tint, great company to deal with
After checking the prices on Amazon for precut film vs. having windows done professionally we decided to give it a try. I have done vehicles before & was fairly confident that I could get good results. Our tint arrived undamaged. It was wrapped around a thick cardboard tube, inside a sealed bag, inside a thick cardboard box. The precut pieces were all clearly marked with small round stickers indicating their location. Installation went fairly well. I would definitely recommend a installation kit & installing in a garage if possible. Out of the 7 windows in the vehicle, I had 2 that did not come out well. The first one I heated the tint too much with a heat gun & scratched the tint in 4 spots. The second was the rear window. The tint folded on itself when we attempted to put it up. As a result we have 2 creases about 2" long each. We also ended up with a couple pieces of lint/hair from the rear deck carpet under the tint. After a week, the tint on the windows that came out well look great. Good color, & clear. I decided to contact True Line Automotive & request replacement pieces for the 2 windows I messed up. They responded promptly & even sent them out free of charge. Overall I am very happy with the tint & True Line Automotive. I took one star for the install because it is not easy to get professional results. The only worry I have is weather or not the tint will discolor with time. I have had that issue with big box tint. If you have patience, & a garage, give it a try. Just be aware, it is not as easy as they make it look on YouTube! I will definitely order from True Line Automotive again. ... show more

  • Worst tint in the world
This tint is absolutely bad I might as well go spend money I don't have to have it professionaly done this product does not stick to the window. I installed it parked my car and started my 24 hour count down to not roll my windows down we didn't hit 6 hours without this terrible product falling off my window all on its own its a waste of money do not buy it just save another couple hundred and get it done good and you will be happy GAUINTEED I would post a video of how awful it looks but I immediately ripeed it off and threw it away it's that bad people. ... show more

  • Don't rush the process
Before you rush into getting your car done... here is what I've learned from this process. The cutouts are exactly the size of windows, so if your car has a thick seal, then I suggest you place them on the outside. Disappointing, I know. But it made the installation much easier, for me. Also, don't be lazy, and actually clean the windows prior to, or else it won't look right. Needless to say I may have to reorder a piece because of rushing too quickly (time-constraint). Otherwise, it's half the price of what a professional could do for me. Thanks for the quick shipping. I also ordered the installation kit which helped 100%. ... show more

  • For a 99-04 Mustang get a practice back window!
Looks great now that it's installed, wish I had gotten a practice for the back window I have a couple creases I couldn't get out. They were my fault though the shrinking didn't go well and I messed it up. When I eventually order a replacement I might not even shrink it as at least on my car a 01 Mustang I didn't need to shrink the front windows at all and they went on easily. I'd recommend the install kit, I opted not to get it to save a bit of money but ended up spending more getting the stuff I needed anyway. If you have a big back window and it's your first time I'd suggest enlisting a helper! Overall though for the quality, fit, and appearance I'd give it 5 stars. I went with the double ceramic and it looks great other than the creases which again my fault. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to try to install their own tint and doesn't have much if any experience in doing it. ... show more

  • Not the best product, great customer service.
Want to start off this review with a little background here. I've worked in a couple print shops as a graphic designer and have probably above average experience with vinyl and tint. Don't get me wrong, I'm no pro. But I've successfully tinted a couple vehicles before. Those tint jobs have both held up for 1+ years, with the second one on its 3rd year with no issues. We're talking about AutoZone tint here too. At first glance I thought this kit was pretty solid, I was actually really impressed with the QC sheet inserted with the film. Installation kit itself is phenomenal. Tint however, at first glance felt a little thin. First attempt, we did hit a snag with our rear window shape being a little too small, we tried to make it work but it didn't turn out well, tried heating it. (Gently) and it failed almost instantly. Seller sent us a new back piece and covered the cost. Second piece didn't go as planned either. Same issue, no elasticity either. I mean none. I cut my losses and left the back window installed looking like garbage until we can get some more money aside for this project. (Now ~$150 in) Recently one of the windows also started pulling up. Not sure why exactly. Hadn't had any issues for a couple weeks after the install. Tried to fix it and it seems like the adhesive has completely failed. I'm now concerned the remaining windows will start to fail as well. I took a gamble with these guys and learned it wasn't a solid solution for me. Their customer service was great, but the product just doesn't match that service unfortunately. The film is simply just too thin & has no elasticity to it. I'm writing this review to help others save some money. As when it's all said and done, we'll probably be $300+ into this job and at that rate we could've had it tinted professionally. In hindsight, AutoZone (Gila) tint would have been a better option, with better quality and lower cost too. But I would've had to cut it myself. Will be reaching out to customer service to see what our options are with them. Update*** After talking with the seller they did go ahead and actually refund us the full amount of our order, which was pretty cool. As you can see in the picture, this is the day after the car was finished being tinted. All the side windows look good, we didn't show the back, but I will post it. At this point the kit is still on the car, but both the back drivers side window and the front passengers side window have started to peel, the back hatch is still a wrinkled mess - however the front drivers side glass and rear passengers side glass (as well as the porthole glass pieces in the rear cargo area) have held up pretty well. Another thing ever noticed is the film doesnt in fact reduce any heat, but does interfere with the radio signals of mobile devices. GPS predominantly. The company was solid and I feel they did their part and took care of us, their service combined with a higher quality product could be a powerful solution to many issues consumers face within the tint world. ... show more
