  • No problems here - surprisingly solid cabinet is exactly what I want
Style: 5 Drawers Color: Black
I would give this set of cabinet/drawers 4.5 if possible, only because some of the instructions could be clearer and some of the illustrations are slightly different than the actual parts, and the wheel attaching process could be better. But I'm surprised at how solid and sturdy the wood feels (compared to other times I've gone with cheap furniture) and I had no real problems putting it together. I can see where some of the reviewers had problems, especially with the drawers. I also had to reverse one step (take the top off) because instructions didn't make it super obvious that I needed to install the back panel during a previous step. Super obvious meaning like Ikea makes their instructions. However, if you very carefully look at every step and diagram you should be fine! I noticed the pictures of the drawer rails don't have the same number of holes in them that the actual pieces do. I used a little common sense and made a *complete test drawer* to make sure I got it right. The way the wheels attach to the bottom is very flimsy and screws were going in at all directions because the holes don't line up that well with the holes in the wheel plate thing. Having said that, they all got in and the cabinet is standing strong, full of stuff, as I write this. It doesn't feel weak, it just seems like they could have lined those up better for my peace of mind. I was nervous buying this cabinet because of the one start reviews but now I feel like it deserves my rounded-up 5 stars to compensate for those. It's exactly what I needed, nice combination of big cabinet, small drawers for random crap, and a narrow profile. Looks good too! ... show more

  • Full item review with pros/cons Full item review with pros/cons
Style: 7 Drawers Color: White
This is a great substitute for the Alex Nine from IKEA and was significantly cheaper when I purchased it. The instructions were a tad hard to find (they ended up being really folded deep in a box with some nails - I searched for a bit before realizing it). My pieces arrived exactly on time, with zero damaged or missing pieces. Instructions were definitely a bit hard to follow (especially which orientation some of the screws needed to be placed in - they’re incredibly tiny in the diagram and you can’t make out which side is which) but I was eventually able to figure it out. It took 4 hours (straight through) to build which isn’t terrible. The drawers slide easily and fit easily into their spots. The depth and size of the drawers make it perfect for storage of makeup or other items (paper, arts and crafts items, etc). The overall appearance is very nice and I am extremely pleased with how this came out. It is a tiny bit wobbly (not significantly so, but what you’d expect from a piece of self constructed furniture). Overall I would recommend this item to someone looking for a nice, relatively cheap, item for storage, which is why I gave this 5 stars - this was exactly what I wanted and perfect for me. Would not recommend to someone looking for a 100% perfect item, an expensive looking item, or something that comes to you premade. You get what you pay for (but this beat out all of my expectations tbqh). Pros: Arrived on time No damaged pieces Exactly as pictured when built Nice, quality item Cheap price Comparable to more expensive Alex 9 Easy to use once assembled Nice appearance Cons: Time to assemble (4 hours) Semi-difficult to follow instructions ... show more

  • Great Cabinets For the Price.
Style: 7 Drawers Color: Black
I ordered two of these to be the supporters for my new desk. It took me about four hours to put both of them together. So let me go over the experience I had with these cabinets. Quality: It's cheap, pressed wood, covered by paint. The wood chips easily, especially when you're putting in the screws to hold the rails, if it god forbids falls down or any other mishaps. So be extra careful with this.Take as much time as you need to physically secure a screw rather than use power tools. I used power tools too, but I set it on a lower setting like 3-4. Sometimes the tool couldn't force it to go anymore and I had to tighten the screw manually. Building the drawers: The matching of the holes of metal parts and wooden parts about 40%-60% accurate. Meaning - about 40% of he holes will match up with the metal bar properly, 60% will be either too close to the metal bar, so when you screw in your screw it cracks the product, or it will be too far so kind of have it held in place by someone else while you're putting in the screw. Expect a lot of frustration with that part. It's tedious and unpleasant. The grooves on the sides of the drawers, where the bottom part supposed to slide in do not match up in about 40% of the time. Expect several drawers to have to either hit the bottom until you force it to slide ALL the way in or just not caring whether it slides all the way in and pray that the top part, the part with the cut out for the handle, will be able to fit. Either way, again, cheap production don't expect perfection, causes frustration, but much less than the screws. Building the Sides: This part is rather easy. Holes on the sides of the cabinet match to the metal railing pretty nicely, in about 99% of the time. I've had two, I think out of fourteen (I ordered two) that required a bit of nudging to get it secured with both screws, properly. Metal Rails: The rails that allow the drawers to move back and forth are of good quality, however, the rails that you put ON the drawers are not so muchly. They are also metal and for the most part, about 70% are of good quality. There are a few, however, where the wheel will stick, preventing the drawer from moving forward, leaving it about quarter of the way open. It's very, very frustrating because pressing it harder to move in does not do anything. Neither does applying a little more force. You have to press down and left on the drawer to force it to close. After a few attempts I took the drawer out and looked the wheel and it's all banged and cut from the tries of forcing the drawer all the way in. I don't know what's wrong with it, I'll try to use WD40 on it to see if it helps. Majority of the drawers do NOT have this problem. In the end, there's a little bag with four plastic corners. Do NOT forget those or your cabinets will wobble something fierce. Warning: I came upon two pieces that were not what I needed. Because of that ONE of my drawers has an issue, but it can be fixed with glue so I am not too worried. Just don't be surprised if you get a piece that is not what you need. Instructions: Instructions are fairly easy. It's just a picture of a drawer with all the parts that are labeled. I usually am really pretty inept in putting things together, but aside from a few things where I needed assistance in holding stuff down so I can fasten the screws in, the instructions were a breeze. Picture matches clearly to the part in front of you, there's very, very little confusion about what is going on and what is needed to bring the piece together. Maybe they re-done the instructions, I don't know, but I had NO trouble figuring out what needs to be done. Looks: So, when I finally put it all together I must say they look VERY nice. The coating on them is not too shiny, the color is rich and the paint does not scratch easily. Cut outs on the front of the drawers are also super comfortable when you open the drawer, I even prefer it to the handles. Final Thoughts: Despite of its shortcomings in some ways, these cabinets and drawers are a great buy on a budget. They are very sturdy, they look really good and they are cheap. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for the most bang for their buck. Also if you treat them gently - aka - won't go around kicking them and scratching them - I will not be surprised if these things last you for years. ... show more

  • I LOVE these drawers! I LOVE these drawers!
Style: 7 Drawers Color: White
I'll start with the bottom line: these are great little sets of drawers, at a reasonable price, but if you've never put furniture together before, you might want a buddy to help. They look great, and are perfect for my art studio - in fact, I liked the first set so much that I purchased another, and can't rule out more in future. They are sturdy, stylish, the drawers open and close smoothly, and are a nice size for office-type needs. I use them to store painting and other art supplies, and having the casters makes for easy rearranging as well. The only thing at all negative I can say is that the pieces arrive without any letters or numbers to identify them, other than the tiny drawings on the schematic, so I highly recommend laying everything out first and identifying all of the pieces, or it might be a bit confusing. With seven drawers, and four rails for every drawer, there are a LOT of pieces to put together. Even so, it only took me a couple of hours to do on my own. All in all you get a lot for the money, and I think they're great! ... show more

  • Worth the Buy// Have Reasonable Expectations Worth the Buy// Have Reasonable Expectations
Style: 7 Drawers Color: White
Please read full review- very helpful! When searching for an affordable drawer system to contain my calligraphy supplies, I struggled to find one until I got to this unit. Reading the reviews, I was worried. People complained about chips, drawer issues, etc but I made the purchase anyways because I loved the look. That being said, you have to have reasonable expectations when making this purchase- that is why I enjoy the product so much! Don't expect IKEA quality for a non-IKEA price. For less than $100, this was easily one of the best purchases I've made. DELIVERY- When you first open the box, it is very daunting- there is syrofoam galore and dozens of unlabeled pieces of wood (again, with setting your expectations). The thing that I most recommend is clearly labeling your pieces with masking tape before beginning. Organize the small parts (screws, etc) in muffin tins and LABEL THEM. This will make the construction process so much easier. CONSTRUCTION- I must admit, the reviews about long construction times are legit; it took me 5 hours (but again, WORTH IT, and I screwed everything by hand). The diagrams that come with are lacking, but not nearly as bad as some other reviews claim them to be. They give you enough instructions to complete the unit, although it will definitely take you a minute or 30 to get a sense of what the diagram is having you look at. I would recommend using an electric drill or a ratchet to make the process go quicker, as there are many screws. I had no missing parts DRAWER- The drawers take the longest to make, as there are 7 of them and each drawer has easily 20 parts to it but once you get the hang of it, it's a piece of cake. Be careful to put the drawer rails/guides correctly on the drawers- I messed up and it took me a while to fix. Many of the bad reviews come from the user making this mistake. The drawers once constructed CORRECTLY slide very smoothly and are not slow or loose at all (see VIDEO). The other reviews talking about the drawers falling out are due to user error- not the drawers' fault. OUTSIDES- The outsides of the drawers are thin but not at all flimsy. I have no issues with bending or instability. "BAD" THINGS- I ended up not putting the wheels on the bottom of the unit because the screws that are said to attach the wheels to the unit are too big for the holes that you're supposed to put them into. That wasn't a problem for me, as my intention for this unit is for it to remain stationary. Just be aware of that if you're looking for this to be mobile. There were two screws that I didn't use that attached the top of the unit to the sides due to another fitting issue, but there are small dowels included that did the trick just fine. The drawers do not go all the way to the back of the unit, so the drawer lengths are not the same as the unit's length. For reference, the drawers fit two mason jars stacked on top of one another (laying flat of course, as seen in the video). There were VERY FEW chips, and they were not very noticeable. OVERALL- Set your expectations. Label your parts. Be patient. Very successful purchase, I HIGHLY recommend! ... show more

  • Doesn't hold as much as you might think Doesn't hold as much as you might think
Style: 7 Drawers Color: White
UPDATE (8/30/2025) As I suspected when I originally wrote this review a little more than two years ago, the cheap plastic wheels that come with this unit are junk. They break VERY easily, under normal use, just rolling it on laminate flooring. Fortunately, they are easy to replace. I got some caster wheels from a well known retailer of assorted items that probably have harbors around the world through which they import freight. At 1 5/8" diameter, they're slightly bigger than the stock ones, but MUCH better built. These units should come with these better wheels, which I got for only $2/each. See my updated pictures for examples of these easy to install wheels. They install using the stock screws, you just need to drill new holes. INTRO I bought this because I am desperate for storage space for cables, various pieces and parts and other "project" type stuff. I got this specific unit because it matches the 5-drawer unit I got to go under my desk. It was 15% off the list price of $170, and I paid $144.50 per unit. I got two units. I also got the 5-drawer and 5-drawer with cabinet units: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006WYUQDY?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07K9F7XYC?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details PRICING: I think the price is very high for what you get. You get a 7-drawer unit for $145. The 5-drawer units (that are basically the same, but with 5 drawers) are only $78. So you're paying quite the premium for those two extras drawers and a little more height (width and depth are the same). I'm not going to bother sending these back, but if I had it to do over again, I probably wouldn't buy them at this price. $100 is more reasonable for these. Anyway - aside from that...quality is OK. Tolerances are a little loose - so things are not lined up perfectly. There's a bit too much spacing/slop in the drawers for my taste - but it's OK at $100/unit. At $145/unit, it's pretty bad. GENERAL COMMENTS: The drawers are shallow height, and shallow depth (compared to the cabinet) so they hold a lot less than you probably want. They also doesn't hold anything with much height, such as a small 3 oz can of spray paint, which is a real bummer. So for arts & crafts and projects like that, these drawers are probably not ideal. For holding 8.5" x 11" papers in two stacks side by side, they won't work. For storage of things like computer cables, various electronics gadgets, pencils and staplers and office kinds of things, they're OK. This unit is a rolling unit. The wheels are cheap plastic, but it rolls OK on my hardwood floor. Would probably suck on carpet. To my surprise and delight, I discovered that the wheels do have "locks" on them, so you can lock it into position to keep it from moving. Handy if you wanted to use the surface for a work table or something. The drawers slide OK for what they are. They don't really "lock in" so they will want to slide out if you roll the unit around much. This unit could be greatly improved if the drawers had better retention, so you had to more actively slide them out, with a little effort. You could probably paint this unit if you wanted to. Would be kind of a PITA. I'd recommend scuffing the entire surface to be painted, for better adhesion. I would also recommend doing it before assembly, and using a sprayer or roller, rather than a paint brush. Unit could use a handle on the front, so give you something to grab on to when rolling it. Side would work, but for my use case, front would be better since it is under my desk facing forward. I will probably acquire a handle and install it when I get some time. IMPROVEMENTS NEEDED: First, the drawers for all of these Winsome Halifax Storage/Organization pieces are shorter than the cabinets. There is room in the cabinets to make the drawers another 2" deeper (toward the wall), but they don't do so. I don't understand why. Either make the drawer deeper or the cabinet shorter. Secondly, the width of these drawer units should be a little wider, so they can handle two reams of paper side by side. As it is, you can put one ream of paper in, and then have space on one side of it that isn't useful for much. I'd love to be able to put in a second ream of paper, or even stack standard size printouts side by side. The product would be so much better if they just added a few inches to the unit's width. Third, the drawers need some "retention" so they snap closed and don't open when you roll the units. The drawers would be more useful if they had a little more height, so you could store slightly larger things in them. They are 3.75" high and should be more like 4.5" high (or even 5"). BUILDING THE UNITS: As an experienced DIY person, this took me two hours to build because the instructions SUCK! They're the typical "no words, only pictures" type of instructions. Plus, nothing was labeled. In the pictures, they show part "A" or "B" or whatever, but the pieces themselves are not labeled. You have to keep referring back to the parts list and figure out which part is which. Even pre-sorting the stuff doesn't help much. The biggest issue was that in the very first step, the picture shows one thing, but then they show a measurement to go by. The information conflicts. What are you supposed to do? Here's a hint. Ignore the whole "16mm" thing entirely. Just do what the PICTURE shows, which is using the SECOND HOLE on the metal part on the front. It won't come out to 16mm from the front of the cabinet, but that's OK. They should just delete the "16 mm" part because all it does is add confusion. For the reason above - I ended up skipping this part of the instructions and went to building the drawers first. I was meticulous about recording the time I spent to build these two units. Keep in mind to that I had previous experience building the 5-drawer unit yesterday, so I pretty much already knew what I was doing here, AND I was specifically trying to go fast. You're going to be slower if you haven't built one of these and/or are going at a more relaxed pace. The time breaks down like this (all times are for TWO units): 1). Unbox/unpack, sort out all parts, separate the drawer guides, open hardware, throw away all packaging and boxes to the trash outside: 37 minutes 2). Skipped to step 5 and build all 14 drawers, including attaching glides: 53 minutes. 3). Attach glides to cabinet sides: 12 minutes 4). Build both cabinets, attach the wheels and insert the drawers: 35 minutes Overall, both units took me 137 minutes to unbox and build to completion. That's 2h17m, or about 1 hour and 9 minutes per unit. It took me about 2 hours to build the 5-drawer unit yesterday, so you can see the difference having some experience with these makes. ... show more

Style: 7 Drawers Color: White
I love this!! I got it for my makeup and my collection is a little larger than I thought so I'm about to order another one. I was kinda scared by the reviews but to be honest the 3 major things I saw people give bad reviews for were 1) that its particle board but I mean did u expect oak for 100 bucks?? It looks gorgeous and seems very sturdy to me. And 2) that it was difficult to put together. I can't comment on this. I just held screws and tools and my fiance did it. He had zero issues but he is a mechanic and grew up poor in the south so honestly he can fix/put together anything pretty easy. It didn't seem that difficult,a little time consuming yes but it was worth it in the end. Pretty sure I could have figured it out on my own. And the 3rd was that the drawers fell out or something. Mine has no issues. Think it may be they put it together wrong. But anyway in my humble opinion its worth it! ... show more

  • A pretty nice cabinet which could have been better
Style: 7 Drawers Color: Black
For the price this is a nice looking and constructed drawered cabinet. It takes a bit of time to put the whole thing together, but doing so isn't all that complicated. All the hardware used in construction is grouped by piece which makes finding/using the correct screw simple. I used some glue with the wood dowels even though that wasn't asked for, it makes for sounder construction. The predrilled holes for attaching the casters could have been better, but I had a young man stronger than I am to help me with that. There is a sizable sticker on the back panel warning about the cabinet possibly tipping over and crushing damage. Additional hardware is provided for you to anchor the cabinet to the wall (which seems at odds with having a cabinet on casters so you can move it around as needed). The reason this cabinet might become unstable is because the drawers do not extend the full length of the cabinet. There is a little over 2" of space wasted behind each and everyone one of the seven drawers. I am not fond of wasted space. There are a lot of things that I could store in that space, but there is no easy way to access it other than taking all the drawers out and perhaps adding hooks or something. It wouldn't be worth the effort. The cabinet as a whole takes up more space than needed as a result. I would have preferred that the cabinet be a bit smaller in dimension rather than have empty space within it. For the price, it's a decent cabinet and will be useful for holding my artist supplies. It could have been better. ... show more
