I got the full size. This bed frame is excellent quality. Easy to use: we just opened the box and rolled out the frame - done. It's enough to keep the futon mattress off the floor and therefore breathable under the mattress. I put a full size futon mattress on top and wrapped the whole thing with regular size fitted sheets (no need for special futon sheets) Now I have a nice firm bed. I bought this because my senior dog suffers from IVDD and cannot jump onto our bed at night anymore, even with the the mattress only on a traditional box spring. Since it's not a good idea to leave a mattress on the floor long-term for a variety of reasons, I decided to see what was available for low-profile bed frames/box springs. This was a perfect fit. Less than 1.5 inches tall, allows breathability under the mattress, doesn't slide on the ground (nor does the mattress slide around on the frame.) I noticed a big improvement in support when using this, which I was surprised about. My dog is able to get up just as easily as the mattress being right on the floor, so she is happy too. The package is a bit heavy to get inside, but the BIG plus is no assembly required. The wood is nothing special (looks like 2x4s from the hardware store), but you can't see it under the mattress so that's ok. I do think it's expensive for what it is, but I will do anything to make sure my senior gal is comfortable and can still enjoy laying in bed with me. ... show more

This isn't any special type of board (it's not any light or nicer than any other common softwood), the "finish" is very rough (corners are rough rounded, still rough unsanded edges/ splinters), it's not stained or has any polyurethane coating anything to protect it (in case you were thinking about putting it in a kids room). Anyone with a chop saw and a drill could easily build this with $60 worth of 1x4 furring strips from your local hardware store, some cheap nylon webbing(12 yards ~$7), and some foam furniture pads(40"x5" roll ~$10). If you use a sander on all the rough edges you'll have a better finish than this does. ... show more
