We have a hard time doing food outside in the summer because of the flies in our back yard, but I got these for a party we just had and there were no flies at the tables at all! They do take a couple AAA batteries but since we only plan to use them a couple hours at a time I don’t worry about the batteries running low too quick! Would definitely recommend!

Bought these fans for 4th of July bbq as we needed some bug deterrent. Put 1 of them on each end of our large 6 person table and it kept flies & mosquitos away. 1st time we didn't have to swat flies away from the food. Highly recommend for outdoor parties when you don't want to keep food covered.

It does scatter flies when on. Although when off they would sit on top of it. I would recommend buying rechargeable batteries as if these are constantly on the batteries will last 2 to 3 days. Learned after purchasing and using for the 4th of July. Great value for your money and it won’t hurt the kids that feel the need to touch it.
