  • Good quality at an Exceptional price
Color: Blue
Great product. PROS: COST is a definite plus. Less than 1/2 the cost of 3mm underlayment at a local "Big Box" store. Cost of 3mm thick underlayment at Big Box store is $54.99 for 100 square feet. It does have a grid pattern on it that this does not have. That is $.55 / square foot. The cost of this on Amazon is $41.99 for 200 square feet. That is $.21 a square foot. You decide if pretty lines are worth $.34 a square foot. They were not to me. For a comparable price at a big box store you are buying 2mm underlayment at it is still $.30 / square foot ($.09 more than this). This is the best price on underlayment I have seen. QUALITY: Seems to be very good. I was concerned because some indicated that the tape that is built to hold them together was not very good. I have laid four rolls of this so far, and have had no issues with that. This seems to be as good a quality as other products that are similar. Held up well during installation, even by an inexperienced do-it-yourselfer like me, and some of it remained uncovered for over a week between the time we put it down and actually got it covered. There was no visible wear or damage even though it was exposed in a high traffic area CONS: None so far (unless you really need those grid lines to help keep things straight - recommend you use a chalk box with a tape measure and a square instead!) INSTALLATION: We are using this as underlayment on engineered click and lock hardwood flooring (3/8") thick and it has been great. We are installing on a particle board subfloor that is 30+ years old. When we are in the basement (floor below the one we are installing this on) this really helps dampen the sound of people walking on the hardwood floor. Also has helped reduce or eliminate some of the squeaks in the subfloor that it was covering (again - the original house is 35 years old and the nails in a lot of the subfloor are loose so it was very noisy before we put in screws and added this padding). We are not using this on concrete, and are not using it in a bath / shower area, so we cannot say how it will work in those areas. However it is in our Kitchen, main hallway, entry way, living area and dinning area, and it seems to work great. Would definitely purchase again if we needed to install more flooring. ... show more

  • Good quality and great price.
Color: Blue
Used many types of underlayment but this is the best. Nice solid feel and not like cheap foam sold by big box store. It’s nice and thick also.

  • Good
Color: Blue
Good goes down easy. Light weight and a nice thickness. Put down on a basement floor before laminate flooring. It worked well and was easy to cut and form around walls. Will buy again.

  • Great for the price--but a few things to make it easier
Color: Blue
I don't write reviews, but I thought I could help some people out with this one. At first, I thought I was going to lose my mind when I was putting this in. My husband came upstairs and asked how it was going, and all I could do was point to a heap of this outside on our deck, but I learned a few necessary things. It turns out that it does not have to go down perfectly flat--there will be slight waves in the underlayment, which is okay. As you lay the flooring, it smooths it out. The person (machine) that cuts the first lines drinks on the job--trying to line up the seams was awful. I know this might be common sense to some, but it took me a minute to learn to allow a couple of inches of overlap, then use a razor and slice both layers; this leaves two perfectly lined up seams that you can tape down. Add a layer of underlayment tape all the way down the seams. Otherwise, it will shift. During COVID, we have replaced all the floors in my parents home and our home--what else are you going to do during quarantine than learn some trade? We used the Pergo underlayment first, which admittedly, was considerably easier to use until we got the hang of this. Still, for the price difference, we have been using this consistently. I recommend it, but just don't expect the first lines to be straight, and read the directions. The underlayment has to go perpendicular to the flooring, so the room must be cleaned out before you start. Good luck :) ... show more

  • Professional grade product at reasonable price
Color: Blue
This is high quality underlayment that has just the right thickness to dampen the sound of laminate flooring and not feel mushy when walking over. It is easily installed and has a tape strip on the underside that is painless to seal to adjoining rows. Most of the underlayment at the big box stores are double the price for thinner underlayment and require the purchase of expensive, overpriced tape. This underlayment unrolls flat and appears very durable. I have some areas that have had the underlayment applied, waiting for over a week for me to cover with the laminate as I am working on other areas. I have walked on same daily and created no problems or torn areas. The company sent an email with links to professional installation instructions and delivery was within two days after ordering. Considering that the price is half that of the big box stores, thicker and not requiring the purchase of binding tape, there's little reason to not to buy this product. ... show more
