Great product. 1) Observing one low gutter for a week in the fall: leaves sometimes land, but blow off within 24 hours. 2) Very light weight with adequate stiffness. 3) Product snaps into place and stays in place without screws, so it's easy to drive screws with one hand. 4) Be sure to purchase a magnetic, 6-inch long, 1/4" nut driver for your cordless drill. You will have to work with one hand on the ladder. 5) Installed in fall and working great. Concerned about "catkins," the stringy tassels that fall from oaks in the spring. I'm concerned that wet ones may clog the holes in the covers. I'm hoping that heavy thunderstorms will wash them out. I will find out in the spring. But so far, exceeding high expectations. ... show more

I recently had a new metal roof installed and had old plastic guards with fiberglass screens on the underside from local home center. They were cheap and did a good job keeping stuff out of gutter but with rain I noticed water would pass over the screens over the side of the gutter rather go in so after mich research I decided these offered the best protection while not needing any real preventative maintenance like the all micro mesh screens that I read need to be cleaned because they clog up with mold and mildew. I first replaced all my gutter brackets with improved K style brackets and also re-pitched my gutters. Initially I laid these flat across the gutters and since have pitched the backs up so they are on a slight angle. I just wanted to give debris from trees to have less chance of laying on the top. When they were flat there was absolutely zero water coming over the top of the gutters. 100% improvement over the old plastic screens. After the change in pitch I admit I was slightly concerned that the water hitting the screens on a pitch would have water possibly hit and bounce off but this is NOT the case. There is absolutely zero water passing over the screens and this is coming off a 5/12. 6/12 pitch metal roof and the water races off the roof much faster then asphalt shingles. These are EASY to cut with good scissors. These basically interlock from one screen to the next and installation is simple. I would like to point out these ARE NOT. 48” in length but 45 1/2” of usable screen. 1/2” gets overlapped on each end so don’t figure how many 4’ guards you would need but count the actual footage and add 10% for waste of screens you might have to cut that maybe you won’t be able to use elsewhere. As far as winter goes I have zero concerns of ice because ice dams first don’t have anything to do with gutters. When your roof is warm from rising heat due to poor insulation that heat melts snow and the melting snow hits the cold eve of your roof overhang that isn’t warmed by inside air so that water freezes. Water will freeze before it gets to your gutters if you are Prone to ice dams. This is a insulation problem and having metal guards will not matter. You will get ice dams with no gutters if your roof is warm in winter and you have snow. For the price these are amazing. They fit my 5” gutters perfectly and although like any screen they might hold leaves until wind blows them off but will not effect water draining. ... show more

My gutters are fairly new - installed after the last hurricane- custom made and included with the new roof. They measure 51/2 inches so I bought the 5" guards. I installed them with 1" stainless screws against the back. This pulled the gutters to within 1/4" of the back side which is just under the overhang. This seems to work fine but I had to pre-drill for the longer screws so it took some time. This has worked just fine so far and I'm pretty satisfied. Wish they offered a 51/2" cover. Now I'm waiting to see how they hold up through the next hurricane. The high clearance worked just great. I came out 2 pieces short. Wish they sold them individually but the shipping would be really expensive. ... show more

These are light weight...easy to install...and keep most debris out of the gutters...however debris gathers and just builds up on top of these so I still need to get up on a ladder a couple times a year to clean them off. I was definitely hoping for lower maintenance!

Arrived in perfect condition and with good quality screws. Installed all 204' in an afternoon with many corner cuts. They add allot of strength to the gutters and they fit in the gutters perfectly. The better your gutters are installed the easier these are to install as they almost snap into place. I wish there was a way to order custom amounts of material. When I measured the house I found that 204 was going to be just enough for the house except for the roof over the patio. And the 204' pack could use about 20 more screws as I had allot of corners which require more screws than most installs but it all worked out as I stretched them out in the end. ... show more

Was easy enough to install screws included. I had a 1/4 magnetic nut runner and a 6 inch extension which made installation easier. . Cleaned gutters prior to installation. Hopefully with a heavy downpour it will allow water into the gutter. My roof is 30 feet with a 9-12 pitch. Hoping to observe and report back. It definitely did stiffen up the gutters. ... show more
